I worship a rock
This summer hasn't been one of the best..spending most of my time alone because well, I guess I have no friends.
To pass the time, I was outside the other day doing yardwork. It was pretty hot and sunny, but I felt fine, until all of a sudden, I got dizzy and was able to lay down in the grass. I felt a pounding pain on my forehead, and probably went in and out of consciousness. I'm guessing this lasted a few minutes.
When it was over, I looked across the yard and the first thing I saw was a small, distinct rock. It seemed to be telling me that it had saved me, so I took it inside and I keep it now, thanking it for everything good that happens to me, consulting it for advice, and asking forgiveness when I do wrong.
Is all of this normal? It is when you think about it.

At least you have evidence the rock exists. So it's not that insane.

Re: I worship a rock
You only go as far in life as what you worship has. I doubt a rock has healing abilitys, that rock better be healing my ass out of debt to take it in and worship it.

Re: I worship a rock
I pray to a tree in my front yard. I haven't collected statistics, but I think it answers more of my prayers than god ever did.

Re: I worship a rock
Cool. Now give it a name, write a book about it. BUild a giant fucking temple/church/mosque charge a couple hundred bucks per person to enter and touch the sacred rock, and you have a world religion. Oh, you also have to be the only person to actually hear what the rock says.

Re: I worship a rock
Do you know what it's like to have a seizure? You most likely got hit with that rock or had a seizure, or had sun stroke. I'd like to think it was the rock that hit you since i'd have the impulse to throw one your way, if your the kind of person to start worshipping a rock.

No, I asked the rock if someone threw it at me, it said no.
I'm not sure what kind of rock it is, or that it's even a kind at all. It would make sense to assume that it's its own kind. It looks like an average gray rock, but it's somehow different. When I asked it what kind of rock it was, all it said was something like "a god rock."

Re: I worship a rock
Oh well, I think worshipping the rock isn't nearly as idiotic as monotheism, at least you can see the rock and know that it is as real as you are.
Faith-based religions are lame anyway. You can carry your god around with you in your pocket if you want to, sounds great to me.
