Default help me get rid of them

okay, i grew up morman but then kinda swayed away from it. Now, these sisters from the church keeps coming over to teach me about god every week and they want me to go back to church and all that stuff. How do i go about telling them that i don't want to be in their lil' church/religion anymore. i don't wanna be mean and just say 'don't talk to me anymore'. they are nice people but i don't agree with their stuff.

Tough position. Even being straightforward will not deter some types, especially if they're fanatical. Perhaps enthusing that you've become a Scientologist might scare them away. Jump up and down on a couch as you're telling them. Good luck.

Are you still technically a member?

If so i think you can write a letter to the bishop saying that you would like your name removed from their records or sign summin.

If you do then I dont think they are allowed to bother you.

have a look here: http://www.exmormon.org/

Another way is to politely ask them not to.

Why do you need to tell them anything? Just quit going and if anyone says anything about it, tell them you found out you're Jewish.

Cheers,

what Vice said was absolutely correct.

normally if you write a letter saying that you wish to leave the church then it will be held in abeyannce(?) for one year.

after that year a senior member or the bishop will come and ask you if it is still your intent to leave. he will no doubt offer to pray with you if you should wish it.

should you confirm your wish then you will receive formal notification shortly thereafter.

when my wife left the LDS i was truly impressed how they dealt with it. no pressure, no recriminations and even to this day i know if we ever needed something or help that she or i could go to the church and we would not be turned away.
