Default christian karma?

does anyone know if there are any aspects of christianity that represent "karma" or anything like that? like maybe one of the apostles wrote something in the bible about it?

pretty much every other religion ive read about have a deity that represents karma, i was just wondering if there was anything like that in the bible in particular.

If by a Christian sinning will lead a bad life and be easilly apt to be taken out, then yes. And if you mean a good Christian living a good life with lots of worldly opposition but lots of heavenly rewards, then yes.

You wont find any passages that tell you that there is such a thing as karma, but the idea is universal through all (afaik) religions, you do bad, you get punished.

Its a question whose answer should be understood as it is inherent in, like i said, all religions.

No problem at all. Though i do want to clear up something: karma pretty much operates while your alive. However the "Christian karma" affects your life and afterlife in more subtle ways. Losing/gaining rewards, more/less punishment in the afterlife.

It seems while we are alive though, that we have a sort of backward karma. The world works against Christians while God blesses you. If you are a bad Christian, the world is yours to frolick, but God wont bless you and may take you out at any time.

So the last shall be first, and the first last

(New Testament | Matthew 20:16)

Does that help?

No, because that is talking about servitude, not karma.

There is no such things as karma, as far as Christianity is concerned.

There are actions, and then there are consequences.

If you wrong someone, and you are a Christian, you will not experience a wrong done to you as a result.

If what you have done to this person is a sin, you must repent, or you are judged for it in the afterlife.

Repentence is the key..

But, yeah...no karma for Christians.

The first shall be last and the last shall be first... That means that in the end those who were at the top of the food chain will be at the bottom, and vice versa. That those who cared not for others, but amassed their own wealth, shall be last, and those who sacrificed themselves to help others shall be first.

Seems like christian karma to me...

Granted that a good dose of repentance will clear that right up, but I'm often surprised at how hard that is to come by nowadays. Repentance is not just saying to God that you're sorry and going on doing the same thing again, Dictionary.com's third definition for repent is: "To make a change for the better as a result of remorse or contrition for one's sins."

Repentance is so much more than simply sorrow, it is change.

digital_saviour, your opinion on this subject, as a mod, would be appreciated, as would anyones who has read the bible or has experience in the christian faith. to be more precise, im looking for passages in the bible that refer to situations and consequences which may be thought of as similar to karma.

i already know there is no mention of "karma" in the bible, and that there may not be a similar system as such in place anywhere in the christian faith, or any other white light religion for that matter. but i know that there are some passages of the bible which refer to things SIMILAR to the CONCEPT of karma. to give some examples:

"he who kills by the sword must be killed by the sword and he who leads into captivity must go into captivity" - dont know the passage of that one, revelations somewhere

thats kind of what im looking for, eye for an eye sort of shit, in books of the bible written by apostles etc, i know its a bit much to ask, i should prolly just read the whole bible myself to find out. im just hoping someone else might know of the sort of thing im looking for, and point me in the right direction. thanks for all responses

See my verse above. As far as I remember from my study, that is the only karmic type of thing in the entire bible.

Karma in the sense DS is talking about is not for Christians. The karma i was refering to is that if you do bad, bad things happen. Its just the way it works. God isnt going to reward you for robbing a bank.
