Default God-the name of the alien race that created us

I have beleived for awhile that the bible is litered with ufo and alien stories-pillars of fire, Metal wheels. angels-beings who come from the sky sarounded in light. the fact that heaven seems to be almost referred to as a plantet. The planet heaven. I found some even more convincing evidence to my point today

in genisis 1:26

"we create man in OUR image"

"our"? I have a qeustion to those who dont beleive in my theory. what does it signify in the contemporary world of christianity? I always thought he said "my" image but that isnt what it says

???

no, you're right. its in the plural. it isn't 'god' but 'gods'.

this causes christians to do theological sumersaults but to be frank, the first half of the OT isn't particulary monotheistic .

According to my hardcore christian grandma, it is referring to the Trinity of God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit.

If you are using Christian rules it only takes one sin to get you into Hell. Apparently people are born with the original sin of Eve.

Hes right, there are more then one god, most people will disagree and say there isnt more then one god, or they will say there isnt a god, Jesus predicted another god or messiah after him that would explain everything that he knew, jesus also predicted he was a theif also, yes that means a god(human) that was a sinner. That doesnt mean you can commit as many sins as you want to that would only be stupid as jesus exclaimed, And yes I do belive from what I have been reading also that the planets that Inhabit intelligent life such as our own is considered a heaven. The environment we live in is in a balanced state, temperatures are just right for life, and evolution to occur. We just have to protect it, to make this world, or heaven , last so our children can grow up in a beautiful world also. Their are so many terrorist that want to destroy our world that we live in, it still wont be a perfect world untill we clense it. I belive heaven has its ups and downs, just like everything else in realality.

That's of course ignoring the fact that the Triune nature of God was a concept first suggested more than a thousand years later.

ummmmmmmmm yes he was, jesus was the firstboorn of creation. Colossians 1:15.

God was probably talking to Jesus and the angels when we said we will make man in our image, and im pretty sure when he said this, he meant with qualities like love, wisdom, justice, etc. AND, if teh alien race had these quailties, like LOVE, they would lie to their "children" (Humans)

Time is dependent on space, thus anything prior to creation is outside of temporal existence, with no "creation", inception, conception, or beginning. The plurality of God as suggested in the Pentateuch, can be interpreted in many ways, as religion is just exegesis, but is most commonly construed as either a Triune reference of Christianity, or of Sophia and the other feminine aspects of G-d in the QBLH, from what I have heard.

Adam and Ever are the first SET of man and woman, adam the first man, and eve the first woman. more men could have come after adam but before eve.

Jesus was God**347; SON, he was CREATED first, but not as a human. Jesus was God**347; son until he was sent to earth.

Adam was the first human, made from the clay.

Then for a companion god made Lilith from the same clay, unfortunately she thought she was equally as important as adam, so she was banished from Eden.

Then God made Eve from Adam's rib so she'd cook, clean e.t.c.

from http://dlibrary.acu.edu.au/research/theology/theo113/module03.htm

"Day Six (1:24-31): God speaks, the land animals are brought into being and ordered according to their species. Having created the animals, God is deliberate and reflective in deciding to create humanity: “Let us make humanity (adam) …”. We might well ask why God speaks in the plural (1:26) when God is one. The answer reflects the practice of comparing divinity and royalty in the Ancient Near East. Ancient people knew that not even the most powerful king or queen ruled alone, each had a court of sages, military personnel and nobles as advisers. The image of an earthly king with his court of advisers was transferred to the deity whom they envisioned as a king ruling with an assembly of heavenly beings (see also 1 Kgs 22:19-22; Isaiah 6:1-3; Job 1:6-12, 2:1-6)."

I might add that polytheism is not a valid explanation for this verse, since it was written by the Priestly class during the Babylonian exile. I'm pretty sure they weren't polytheistic, although they may have been monolatristic.

i beleive the sumerians had a theory that aliens created us. google a guy named sitchin.

i dont beleive in aliens. which isnt to say somthing may have lived before us, and something may live after us. but if the universe is really about 12 billion years old... guys thats alot of time LOL. nothing has to exist in the time we currently are. and furthermore, they prolly would not look anything like us. and why they would come to this planet, making an incredibly long trip, just to dick around with some monkeys is beyond me.

that sitchin guy says that theres like 200 genes that cant be explained by evolution from monkeys alone, yet doesnt provide any sources for his claim. sitchin is a jew btw.

now, onto the 'us' 'we' shit.

you wouldnt even believe how much christianity has changed since its inception. what it is in its current form doesnt even look like what it was i its formative first century or so. you have to remember, the catholics are the ones who made the bible what it is today and created alot of the ceremonies.

martin luther is about the biggest boat rocker since the catholics started.

but, the we us shit stems from the beleif that god is one mind, but many 'bodies.' thats about the best way i can put it. like a Borg collective almost, but not quite.

this is one of the largely unknown things that the atheists use to say that christianity is just warmed over greek mythology. a little bit of background info and a timeline blows it to shit.

actually the idea of the 'Priestly class' being monotheistic at that time is probably incorrect.

the idea of there being just a single god only really hit judaism well after the exile.

Hmmm... I said that I thought they were monolatristic, but now that I try to look it up none of the dictionaries contain the term.

I do agree that they believed in the existence of many gods back then, but they certainly only worshipped Yahweh. I doubt they would picture God talking as if he were chums with the other gods during the creation.

Nihilist: i beleive the sumerians had a theory that aliens created us. google a guy named sitchin.

And I believe they don't. I've never read any of Sitchin's books, but I'm quite sure he's nuts. I've read some about Sumerian history and religion, and I've seen nothing that implied the gods being aliens and all that.

For information regarding the Sumerians:

And for a rebuttal of Sitchin's ideas: http://www.ramtops.demon.co.uk/siren.html

.

The legend you are reffering to is about the "Anunnaki" a race of ten foot tall beings. They may also be the "Nefilim" reffered to in the bible. The Sumerian legends say that these beings came to our planet some 450,000 years ago. Their purpose was to mine gold, which would then be sent back to their planet to help fix their atmosphere.

According to the writtings supposedly deciphered by sitchin. The Anunnaki didn't have enough man power for the job, so they took a protohumanoid being and sliced their DNA with our ancestors. Thus the current human race was started.

Granted there are those out there that don't subscribe to sitchin's work. What does bother me, is the fact that these are oldest known creation stories, yet they are simply brushed aside for the stories in the bible. The question is why? Is it so hard to believe that beings for another world possessed the technology to manipulate DNA, then came to our planet and did just that? Hell we have the ability now ourselves.

Will we someday do the same thing on another planet, thus completeing a cycle?

Oh and even if sitchin was jewish, I fail to see what if any bearing that would have on his work.

well, it would seem to me that they could find a planet bearing gold way before having to make the journey here. which i would assume was one of a pretty decent length.

also on the DNA manipulation thing, i would think that such a radical shift wouldve eventually shoved us into extinction through one of a couple of possible reasons.

Maybe our planet was the only one within range of their planet. On the DNA point. What reason's were you thinking about?
