Bible haters read this
Im wondering what someone who doesn't believe the bible is gods inspired would say to this:
Job 26:7 - Bible says that god as "hanging the earth upon nothing" and he suspends the earth in void". This was written around 1600 B.C.E. Aritotle rejected this concept of the earth on nothing, and he lived 1200 years after these words were written.
Everyone knows about the water cycle nowadays, but not so much 11th century BCE.
King solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 1:7 "all the waters run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. To the place from which the rivers come, to there and from there they return again.
Aside from this, the oldest reference to the water-cycle is about 1400 years after this, in 4th century CE.
How can the king of isarel and a preacher make these statments longs before even men of their time (educated men) even though of these things?

Re: Bible haters read this
Two clearly uneducated people (by todays common sense standards).
Job thought that God hung the world where it is. It didn't. Did he also believe the sun revolved around the earth??
Solomon observed water running to the sea, and rain on the land...he never explained anything about 'the water cycle', infact he probably thought God was responsible for it.

Re: Bible haters read this
I think you have done this before. Picked something out of another thread, ignoring replies, and tried to pass it off in your own post.
The earth isn't hung in a void, as I explained in the response to the post you just ripped off. Spacetime is not a void, neither are the fields that exist in it such as the higgs field. The bible is wrong. sorry.

john_deer, 'bible hater' is perhaps a pyschological malady that i'm unaware of?
i doubt many people here 'hate' the bible. they may however ,with good reason, hate your christian gloss.

Re: Bible haters read this
John, hearing they don't hear, seeing they don't see.
Christ said, "If they would have LISTENED to me, they would listen to you too."
The religious people didn't listen to Christ, neither did the unbelievers. Christ showed them signs wonders and miracles and above all, Love.
You can't talk people into their salvation. You can't even talk people who believe in God into going to church. They have to see the works of Christ through you and that's how they will know we're "Christians" (Little annointed ones.)
"Awaken a generation." Christ is still the same as he was 2,000 years ago, we just have to come to the understanding of who lives in us, and what he can do through us, being that we are his vessels. He wants to flow through us. We're already equipped to do these things, but we have to learn to RELEASE what was placed inside of us when we were born again, by abiding in the word, and in constant fellowship with Christ.
