Why does everyone refer to a supreme being as having a specific gender?

if it could be a dual purpose question, it'd be, "How and Why was the universe created?"

But I know that's two questions so, "How was the universe created?"

I figure how would partially tie into why the universe was created. besides, i can figure for myself why existence is worth being.

Lol thats like asking "what is God?"

Probably an answer you would not understand :)

Convenience. God appears in both genders throughout the Torah, Prophets, and Writings. 'It' would be a more proper reference, but because it has certain demeaning connotations, and there is no neutral gender in Hebrew, nobody really wants to use it.

And if you think about it, the imagery of Christ and the Bride (the church) gives God a masculinity that a woman could never have.

Christ is to be seen as the Bridegroom...which represents the male in the relationship.

He is also the dominant head of the "house", which the Bible tells us is the rightful place of the husband, who is obviously a man.

Haha Ds, sometimes i wonder if you just troll or if you really believe in what you type.

God cannot have a gender if it is perfect.

How is it trolling to use specific examples of God's descriptions in the Bible as evidence to why I think one way or another ?

I actually believe "He" is genderless.

I never asserted that "He" was a "He".

I just gave an example of...oh, nevermind.

Being in the same room as God would probably cause your eyes pop and your brain to explode. But to if I could ask him one question it would be "Can I ask you a question?" and then I will have used my one question and I would walk out of the room feeling sad.
