"Liberals would approve of a nice Christian girl like Smith going to the Middle East only if she went as a Marine or better! if she were getting herself run over by a tank while defending a PLO tunnel into the Gaza Strip used by suicide bombers."
Stupid bitch.

yeah but you do that and now ^(digital_saviour) his god would forgive him because he's repentent. "sure your a rapist and a murderer but hey, your sorry, so come into paradise, we got pancakes and waffles cooking!". damn gods a dick head, no way you should get off scot free after murdering and raping. hell the murdering bit i could maybe identify with, some people sure do deserve it, but any god that will forgive a rapist can go to hell

According to his brother Mark Nichols, B. Nichols regularly attended church, therefore conditioned to respond to the Bible.(Source; wikipedia)
After she was taken hostage Mrs Smith proceeded, with considerable presence of mind, to form a rapport with Nichols.
Quote from CNN
"I asked him if I could go see her and he told me, 'No,'" she said, choking back tears. "I told him if he hurt me, my little girl wouldn't have a mommy or a daddy."
We then get an insight into his mind at the time.
Quote from CNN:
NicholsSmith said she asked Nichols why he chose her.
"He said he thought I was an angel sent from God, and that I was his sister and he was my brother in Christ," she said. "And that he was lost, and that God led him to me to tell him that he had hurt a lot of people."
Dillusional and irrational. Basically the mans reality was collapsing around him. He'd just killed 3 people in cold blood and was being hunted down, knowing that death row was probably going to be his next destination. After having formed a rapport with Nichols is it so suprising that he wouldn't mentally latch unto a safe and familiar(conditioned) territory - christian literature telling him that God loves him and that if he stops the violence there's still hope for him - and then respond accordingly?
I think pyschology, rather than God, was at work here.
Quote from CNN:
She dialed 911 about 9:50 a.m., law enforcement sources said.
Sure she had absolute faith in God, she just wasn't taking any chances! LOL.
As for the woman herself she emotionally manipulated Nichols in order to survive, a natural and, luckily for her, in this case a very effective technique. I suppose she was brave but it's difficult to apply strict definitions. If you want to survive you do whatever you think is nessecary at the time.
P.S. If this scenario had involved a non-christian who then shot Smith after hearing the same quoted passages, would you have posted a thread saying "Failed by the Grace of God?" ??

Re: Saved By The Grace Of God ?
COULTER: I take the biblical idea. God gave us the earth.
PETER FENN (Democratic strategist): Oh, OK.
COULTER: We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees.
FENN: This is a great idea.
COULTER: God says, "Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours."
FENN: Terrific. We're Americans, so we should consume as much of the earth's resources...
COULTER: Yes! Yes.
FENN: ... as fast as we possibly can.
COULTER: As opposed to living like the Indians.

Damn. That's some shitty PR, right there, to let that one out of the bag. Normally people hide those kinds of things, but not Ann Coulter. I hate extremists so god damned much...
