I've done a little research and I don't believe he's quite dead yet. Apparently he's in a hospital in critical condition and they just put a feeding tube in.
Lucky for him he doesn't live in Florida

He's not in a hospital. He is in his apartment in Vatican City at the time of this post.
Edit:It's Vatican! not Vativan! lol.(that me yelling at myself, so hence the edit was a typo).

No kidding, Lost.
What is your take on that, by the way ?
To keep it true to this forum, what are the spiritual implications of starving her to death, in your opinion ?

Frankly, I don't know. Obviously starving and thirsting to death is a godawful way to go, whether or not she was aware of it... I mean, to tell the truth, I haven't even seen news footage of her. I don't know how aware she was of anything. It's a question of how much life is worth on the most basic level.
If you were rendered completely useless/helpless to society and you're really no longer contributing to the world - your existance is nothing more than any sort of tumor that lies in a hospital bed unmoving, unevolving, void of purpose, waiting to die... I mean, is there much of a difference in waiting to die slowly or waiting to die quickly? Did she want to die? Did she know what was going on? Is it right to keep someone unable to defend themselves alive? Is it right to kill them?
I don't think anyone will ever know for sure whether or not that was a good thing or a bad thing. In my jaded opinion I think it was a good thing to kill her, but I think they could've done it in a more humane - a more honest way, without pretending that it was all about the fucking feeding tube. The feeding tube has nothing to do with the point. The point was they were killing her because she was purposeless.
They might as well have given her lethal injection.

Lost

Terri's sister was interviewed on the radio as having asked Terri if she wanted to live, to which Terri responded with a very enthusiastic groaning.
She smiled.
She followed objects with her eyes.
She certainly wasn't ever going to be the person she was, but my question is, WHY DID ANYONE CARE IF HER PARENTS CARED FOR HER UNTIL HER OWN NATURAL DEATH ?
What difference did it make to the rest of the world whether this poor woman ceased to exist or not ?
I think this is opening a huge can of worms...euthanasia is right around the corner, folks.
If it was ok to starve Terri to death, it will be ok to kill all of the other "less than desirables" of this nation as well.
Yet, the same people who cried out for her death are the same people who are anti-death penalty.
I think it is sick...no one should have the right to say who dies and who lives. NO ONE.
As a believer in God, I trust in His perfect will, which inlcudes whether we live or die.
I just can't believe people were protesting to have her STARVE TO DEATH !

The difference, pathetically, is scientific in nature. Those involved with the euthanasia wouldn't want to put it this way (probably even to themselves) but the whole reason any of this got on the news isn't because The Public actually give a shit about Terri Chiavo or whatever her name is. Some middle aged house wife in South Florida. No one, on an average day, would give two shits about. It really has nothing to do with Terri Chiavo. What all this is about is morality, life and death, and the subjectiveness of both.
It's the question of right and wrong that's capturing The People. So no one really cared if her parents would watch over her until her natural death. Not really. They were only interesting in the question this situation posed. And, to add, who's to say she didn't want to die? Who's to say that groaning wasn't of remorse. Consider and all you're not Terri Chiavo...??? And, too, ask yourself what is "a natural death" to someone in that kind of state?
The difference it makes to the rest of the world is the reason any of this is getting publicity: This is a huge question of humanity that is unanswerable and has been neglected public questioning severely. In these times, when the world has become so small and so turbulent, you can imagine this sort of question would have to rise out of the dust of complacent life. It's just the turning of time, if you will.
Anyways, I've officially become too pretentious to go one. I know this because The Byrds Turn, Turn, Turn is now playing in my head.
Cheers,
Lost
