I am an athiest, but I like to read upon religions for fun.

Most people think that Satan symbolizes evil... but how so? Is he evil because he rebelled? The Forefathers of America rebelled against the brits, and they are considered heroes.

If there is anyone who I would idolize in the bible.... it would ahve to be Satan. He was the first free spirit. The first person to rise against a dictator...

Satan rocks. He was the first free spirit. He was outnumbered in the war and was banished from earth, he found a new planet that he and the demons could be on though (yay!) it's near betelgeuce in the belt of orion.

AVE SATANAS

If God as the Christian belief portray didn't exist, there wouldn't be any Satan. But if he does, come on, to him Satan would be a little squirt that he let go.

Edit: It's kind of like a rebelling child and his parent, it seems to me that God didn't want a world where everyone was simply perfect, so he let Satan go in order to allow free will. Damn God, I wish he kept a perfect world so I could be happy, young, and have free sex with all the women.

Well, he doesn't symbolise evil, he just heads it. He wasn't evil for his rebellion, he was blasphemic. What made him evil was his loveof the kingdom of God. He wanted to be a part of it again, but realised he couldn't, so he set his sights on the newly created Earth. Once he got Eve to break the link with humans and God, then Death and Sin, Satan's son and wife, could come into the world. Or something like that.

If you're really interested in reading about the origins of Satan and Satanism I suggest looking up Josef McCabe. He was a philospher in the early 20th century who was originally a priest before becoming atheist.

I've read several of his manifestos on various religions and am currently reading his A History Of Satanism (a panflip that can be found at most anarchist bookstores).

I find him very insightfull and engaging. Try it out.

Cheers,

Lost

I find it hard to beleive that anyone takes this bible shit seriously.

However The book of job is probably one of the greatest books ever written,

To cut along story VERY short

So satan said to god ,who's your most faithfull subject, god said JOB, satan said PROVE it, GOD said OK.

and god masacered murdered all of JOBS cattle and children and servants and his wife. leaving job with nothing.

and god said too satan" all job has left now is his faith, I have murdered his family, destroyed his farms and made him poor.

Job having faith was so terrified of god that he would not lose his faith and begged to god for 40 days and nights.

So who is the evil one here? eh, Would the rightous god you beleive in do such an evil thing to an honest hard working man in order to prove a point and win a bet against satan. you can stick your god up your ass.hahahahahhhahahhhhhhhhhhhhahhhhahahahahhahahah ahaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Except you are leaving out the rest of the story, as well as the moral of it.

God then blessed him triple (I could be wrong, maybe it was quadruple, or even 30 times) what he had before he was cursed.

This served to prove to Satan that he is not as smart as he thinks he is. That God knows the hearts of His faithful subjects, and He knew that Job would not betray Him.

He also knew Jobs limits...I don't believe God did anything to him that he couldn't handle, and God made a promise to never leave us or forsake us. Reasonably, you can conclude that God gave him the strength to withstand the torturous events he endured.

As much as this scenario may have seemed unfair, you have to recognize the fact that Job is a part of God's creation. He could do with him as He pleased. And though He didn't have to, He made up for it by blessing him many times over.

I love how the pagan's love to warp the stories in the Bible, which are intended to instruct.

Just because YOU missed the point of the story of Job doesn't mean it didn't have one.

You speak as though you understand the heart of God, and it is clear that you do not.

No i have read the story in full , It is a magnificent work of literature Its a masterpeice. but my first point which I clearly stated was that the bible is not something I take literatly as historic truth.

And within the story you seemed to assume that I saw Job as a victim when I clearly stated that Jobs wife , Jobs daughters And Jobs cattle were the true victims, Of gods wrath,

In order to make a point to show satan whome he Obviosly regarded as more important than mere living beings, otherwise he would not have tortured so many living beings in order to make a point or win a gamble against somthing that is considered among many chrirstians as the root to all evil(satan). So gods actions in this, is pure hypocracy, In order to prove a point against the evil satan, god had to use evil and cause sufferring to living beings. But this argument was aimed at people who take the story literaly , not those who can see the point and this is the dilema I have introduced or fabricated out of one of my own perceptions of this book.

Whats funny is the churches choice of words, Lucifer is a latin word which means "Bringer of Light", and even funnier is that the original satanists did not worship satan or kill animals and shit, they were simply adversaries of the church and were labeled "Shaitan", and Islamic word meaning just that, adversairy. The illuminati are/were the oldest satanists, and they dont/didn't worship satan.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Shaitan is the root of the word satan, in case anyone didnt pick up on that.

I didn't say you hadn't read it. I said you didn't include the whole story, which makes it seem worse than it is. (torture is torture, but torture with a spiritual purpose is entirely different)

And though those people who lost their lives can be considered "victims" in a human sense, essentially they were blessed as well. They earned their rightful place in Heaven, so I wouldn't pity them too much.

The lesson to be learned was not so much for Lucifer, as it was for us, the "readers".

Satan is NOT more important than us, which is why He challenged God's motives in creating us to begin with. He was jealous.

God's actions are not hypocratic to the objective mind. As I said, you don't understand the will of God, which is clearly inundated throughout the Bible.

What happened to Job wasn't a fairy tale. It truly happened.

This post is not intended to be a criticism...rather, I would encourage you to read the whole thing. If you thought the story of Job was good...

Has anyone actually read ANY of this in the Bible?

I sure as hell haven't.

I do love the Book of Enoch, though. There were some rebellers. Horny Angels who come to earth, fuck semitic broads, and teach them the magic secrets of paint.

Personally, I think that whole story is based off of an African invasion of Mesopotamia. I haven't proven it yet, but the fact that the angel/human offspring were 'giants,' and that the angels taught them things that are really just things from a more advanced culture, leads me to believe that a bunch of big niggers ran in and fucked all the brown broads.

For some reason the book of enoch has been taken out of the bible. It is not in my king james version. Someone told me, Or I read somewere, that the book of enoch says that the jews are the offspring of satan and that the adamites should not mix with other races such as africans.

Many beleive that the adamites are white aryans,

You can twist this badly translated and edited bible into anything you wish, It is an ilusion.

for instance

"In the begining God created the heaven and the earth"

Not much detail there

Hold on a second. Whoever wrecklessly said "exactly, question everything!" and then "hail lucifer".

Lemme ask you something. You say Question everything! Why don't you question if Satan EXISTS, or better yet if you're retarded. Satan is depicted as evil, not a "rebel". Isn't it highly likely you're just dying to possess ultimate knowledge, that we MERE mortals can't understand, and you think we're all being tricked into some big scam? Hmmm...Supposing you do actually believe everything you said up to this point, lemme ask you one more thing. Why would you want to base your thought process, or faith on a figure of evil? Have you sunk that low? Evil is sticking flames into your BRAIN, or letting leeches suck your EYES out. Or would you rather be surrounded with slightly more, how do I say it, pleasent energy? Hmmm...

The biggest source of pure retardation is that these kids are saying "Hail Satan" while touting that God is fake.

Notice the hypocrisy?

Yes, it is hypocritical in SOME cases. Many a time, (as in spiritual satanism) the satanists do believe that the xtian god exists, but that he is truly the evil one and twists things that really happened around to show himself in a true light. Of course there are those goth highschool dropout weirdos who know almost nothing and call themselves satanists as a mere statement of how "different" they are, kinda annoying....

Satan and Jesus are my two favorite characters in Christian Mythology and they both have a lot in common.

1. Jesus stood up against the Church & Satan stood up against God.

2. Jesus led jews away from their religious ways into a more enlightened Path. Satan led Adam and Eve to the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

3. Jesus was willing to die and go to hell (only for a few days though) for what he believed. Satan was willing to go to hell for what he believed.

Satan to me represents Nature and Instinct, he represents the Human. Jesus represented something different, something Divine and Spiritual. I think we ought to integrate both aspects into ourselves if we want to be enlightened...or whatever.

My only real beef with Satan is the Satanists. Not a very lovely crowd, from what I've seen. Of course, only slightly less bad are the Christians, whose hypocrasy and self-righteousness make my skeleton want to jump out of its' skin and chase them around for a while.

Besides the Satanists and Christians, Satan and Christ are both cool in my book.
