Why is it hard to accept the fact that we die, and decompose like everything else on this earth. If people feel that life would be worthless if there wasn't an afterlife, then I feel very sorry for them.

Curiosity killed the cat?

I have my own view of what will happen when I die and what I will try to do in my last few seconds. Some people just think and hope for the best and others try to answer a hard to answer question.

You admit that no one has experienced it, yet you still think that someone will be able to give a conclusive answer?

All that one can do is think for his- or herself, and come to his or her own conclusions. If you're seeking internal peace, just think about it. No one can give you any "fo' certain" assurance, unless you'll take their statements on faith.

You wouldn't 'fall into blackness for all eternity' because you have to actually exist to experience blackness.

It seems to me that the most likely scenario of what happens after you are dead is the same scenario that was the case before you ever existed.

Before you existed, were you in some sensory deprived void, awaiting to be born?

No, you just simply didn't exist.

When you die, you lose all your cognitive capabilities that define your being and go back to the same state that you were prior to being born: that of nonexistence. Except this time, you don't get born.

You don't know that.

Maybe you just can't remember what it was like before you were born. Maybe "Memory" is an animal trait.

"Memory" is a trait dependent on a funtioning brain to encode and decode memories on to brain matter.

A luxury you aren't afforded prior to and after the destruction of yoru brain.

Well who says memory is essential to after life living?

Maybe afterlife is a constant experience of the moment, in which case memory wouldn't be needed, only awareness.

maybe death is just like life, where an infinite number of predictable and an infinite number of unpredictable occurrences are possible.

How are you going to be aware of anything when you have 0kb of memory, no power supply, no BIOS, no motherboard, no perhipherals, and no hard disk?

Nerd Alert!

Serious though, you just compared the human body (current biological supreme entity) to a computer (current electronic supreme entity)...kickass.

Reincarnation is different to how you think it is, its transmigration of the soul so when you're migrated its YOUR soul in someone else's body. Mind you, you are not your soul. When your soul transmigrates you don't remember any of your past lifetimes unless you do a regression, and in that case, there is a link between the brain and the soul and you access the memories of the soul during a regression, which is why scientists observe the brain "creating" memories during a regression. You go to the underworld before your soul transmigrates though, whether the underworld be heaven or hell. There is more then one heaven and more then one hell. There are the seven circles of hell and as for the heavens there are all different ones like formless heaven which is the first after-death heaven. However heaven and hell are temporary.

Do you really expect these theoretical and hypothetical fucktards to know what happens when you die? pfft...bitch please,

The only way you're gonna get a decent answer to this question is to off yourself, but is that really worth doing just to satisfy your curiosity?...

besides, nobody knows what happens when you die,and if you think you do...your fucking wrong.

Not necessarily! - If you cease to exist after you die, then you will never know what happens after you die.

Is a computer aware of itself?

the closest thing to death when you are alive is sleeping while not dreaming. you know, when you go to sleep n before you really know it your awake again. its probably like that, just nothingness, not even time...forever.

Im sure they could program a computer to be aware of itself. Perhaps even make it type messages to you like "Yes Iam aware of myself"

In the long run, after we die what happens? I've thought about this many a time, many a time, it kind of haunts my mind. Im always thinking what I'll be going through as I know Im dying.

There seems to be a lil proof of an afterlife through when people die they see stuff, light at the end of a tunnle, people in their lives that have died. The human body is a complex thing, but the human brain is more complexed.

We arent born to be totally aware of ourselfs, we have to learn that fact. Right or am I wrong?

Anyway, I bet when you die, or as you are dying you experience a lot of stuff in you're head, thus isnt you're brain throughly shutting down? All life takes place in the brain, you are clinically dead when you are brain dead. With no function at all. Im sure its one helluva process, all the lights at the end of the tunnle could be said (are said) to be just the brain going through its dying phase. So you'll get bursts of thoughts here and there, probably vivid images along with it.

Is there a soul in us? Or are we just lead to believe it? This conciousness in my head that is fully aware of me typing this and fully aware of all the possibilities possbile within the reach of limits, is just a by product of our spinal cord attached to the back end of the brain (as read in some science book, not so smart thus i said "to the back of the brain")

Or is there something deeper with us, an actual soul, a form of energy that when we die, it escapes and goes somewhere?. .

Maybe we humans, as we watch everything around us with time just die, we get scared of the fact that even though how smart and powerful we may seem to be that our weakness is death, and not knowing a lot about it, since we dont deal with it until we are on the thin line between life and death.

Everything else just seems to die and not respawn in any mircaulous(sp) way, but we dont truely know.

Why question the unanswerable? Because questioning is what we're best at, even though questioning may not solve all the problems.

But think about this. As I said before, memory could just be an animal trait.

A popular belief is that you escape you body as it sleeps. Presuming memory is an animal trait, you wouldn't have it whilst out of your body. You'd be living in the moment, which is something spirituality teaches you to strive towards.

Then you awake, you leave the moment and start remembering pointless crap once again.

If you're living in the moment it's impossible to remember anything, because you are always thinking about the very moment you are in.

So it wouldn't necessarily be nothingness, but constant experience of the moment.
