here are the mathmatical formulas used to prove different dimentions of such that our physical eyes cannot see. if you have learned anything in math up to trig, you should atleast understand up to the third dimension. maybe this is a little insentive for some of you to further your math education, remember, it is after all the universal language.

Formulas for N-Dimensional Spheres

The sequence is

r^n * pi^(n/2) / Gamma(n/2)

Here pi is the familiar ratio of circumference to diameter of a

circle. Gamma(x) is a function with the property that if k is a

positive integer, then

Gamma(k) = (k-1)!

Gamma(x) is the smooth continuous version of the discrete factorial

function.

When n is even, say n = 2*k, this becomes

r^n * pi^(n/2) / (n/2-1)!, n even.

You can see that this works for n = 2, when you get

r^2 * pi / 0! = pi * r^2

When n is odd, say n = 2*k - 1, you need the additional fact that

Gamma(k-1/2) = sqrt(pi)*(2*k)!/(k!*4^k)

In this case, the expression you get is

r^n * pi^([n-1]/2) * ([n+1]/2)! * 2^(n+1)/(n+1)!, n odd.

You can see that this works for n = 3, when you get

r^3 * pi * 2!*2^4 / 4!

= (4/3) * Pi * r^3

For n = 4, the expression is

r^4 * pi^2 / 1!

= Pi^2 * r^4

For n = 5, the expression is

r^5 * pi^2 * 6!/(3!*4^3)

= (15/8)* Pi^2 * r^5

Observe that the exponent of r increases by 1 each time, but the

exponent of pi increases by 1 every second time, and the coefficients

obey the peculiar sequence given above. A larger part of the sequence

is:

n F(n)

0 0

1 2*r

2 Pi*r^2

3 (4/3)*Pi*r^3

4 Pi^2*r^4

5 (15/8)*Pi^2*r^5

6 (1/2)*Pi^3*r^6

7 (16/105)*Pi^3*r^7

i think hes trying to show that even though we cant see this 3rd dimension stuff, we can see its effects...i guess you can apply it to god? i think thats what he tried to say, i didnt really understand those equations

Exactly. Who cares if you are right or wrong? All that matters really is that you believe you are right and remain steadfast and uncompromising, irrespective of evidence or logic.

OK, so coherent mathematics are possible in more than 3 dimensions.

You missed the important bit, however - how does this prove God exists?

It doesn't prove shit. Math is perfect. This doesn't prove the existence of God. No matter where you are pi is pi. No matter what the formula for the volume of a cube is the same, infinity is always infinite, and 2 plus 2 will always equal 4. Mathematics are the rules that govern the universe. It has nothing to do with God, because if math wasn't perfect the universe couldn't exist.

hahahahaha, I argues your point and won!!

I dispute your point that the universe couldn't exist if math weren't perfect.

Math is perfect because we define it in ways so that it is perfect. 2 + 2 only equals 4 because we've come to a agreement about what the symbols 2, +, = and 4 mean.

In other words: math corresponds to the reality, it doesn't dictate it.

Of course, this isn't to say that math is baseless - it's an excellent way to model the universe, and really the only one we have.

so if we live in the third dimension, and none of us have ever been in to a place in the fourth fifth sixth or seventh dimentions, and yet we can prove their existence; would we not suppose that God dwells in a higher dimensional plane? after all the term God simply means higher intelligence. so when one day we become a higher intelligence, it is obviouse that there will always be an intelligence that is one step ahead of us in our eternal existence.

Just because the math is possible doesn't mean it's possible in real life.

You certainly could - if you already supposed that God dwelled anywhere. Saying that something is possible isn't proof that it's true though.

The only thing demonstrated is complex reasoning. Math is analytical (inferential and/or deductive), axiom based (ie ultimately heuristic and practical rather than intrinsically valuable), and therefore has no domain in evaluating extra-experiential or metaphysical phenomena, which are matter of faith and faith alone.

Dimension-Main Entry: third dimension

Function: noun

Date: 1858

1 : THICKNESS, DEPTH; also : a dimension that adds the effect of solidity to a two-dimensional system

2 : a quality that confers reality or lifelikeness <night sounds that stick in the mind and give a third dimension to the memory —Adie Suehsdorf>

Main Entry: fourth dimension

1 a (1) : measure in one direction; specifically : one of three coordinates determining a position in space or four coordinates determining a position in space and time (2) : one of a group of properties whose number is necessary and sufficient to determine uniquely each element of a system of usually mathematical entities (as an aggregate of points in real or abstract space) <the surface of a sphere has two dimensions>; also : a parameter or coordinate variable assigned to such a property <the three dimensions of momentum> (3) : the number of elements in a basis of a vector space b : the quality of spatial extension : MAGNITUDE, SIZE c : a lifelike or realistic quality d : the range over which or the degree to which something extends : SCOPE — usually used in plural e : one of the elements or factors making up a complete personality or entity : ASPECT

2 : obsolete : bodily form or proportions

3 : any of the fundamental units (as of mass, length, or time) on which a derived unit is based; also : the power of such a unit

4 : wood or stone cut to pieces of specified size

5 : a level of existence or consciousness

It just had fuck all to do with God.

You see, if you give every number a numerical value (a=1, b=2, c=3 etc.)

man is 28

god is 27

So man and go are only 1 apart

If that doesn't prove god's existance, I don't know what does...

EDIT: also, since man is 1 higher than god, this proves that we are better than god.

1. You can abstract math to any number of dimensions. It just gets increasingly impossible to visualize.

2. Actually, there are 10, possibly 11 dimensions in our world. One time, three extended dimensions, and 6-7 curled up dimensions. Go search Mad Scientists for relevant explication.

Oh, and you're full of shit.

No, it doesn't prove that anything exists any more than

4e9 people + 5e9 people = 9e9 people

proves that 9 billion people exist.

It proves that it's possible to do math in more than 3 dimensions, not that these dimensions exist.

The guy said you couldn't argue with it...it wasn't even a proof of a god, nor 5+ dimensions. All it shows is that more dimensions are mathematically possible.

This thread isn't about having an open mind. The guy clearly stated that his evidence is true evidence, and that it can't be disputed.

How is telling someone that some thing is fact, and that they can't argue with it, having an open mind?

It's not even good 'evidence', it's just a possibility, and not even a well thought out possibility. Discussions of 'possibilities' are discussions of open minds. Not statements with a bunch of jibber-jabber.

His so called evidence proves in no way that a god, or God exists.

you know, most philosophers over the course of history have believed that a belief in god is a base element inherent in the human thought patterns. You could have saved yourself the time and gone along with that. But yeah you're right, i cant argue with that cause i dont understand a sentence of it. but hey i dont care either so thats ok.
