Many religeons believe that we are all part of God, it's just that we don't know it. We aren't "Self realised". So that would mean that us and God are already on the same level since we are all the same thing. We are all made of the same godly stuff.
Also many religeons believe that we are immortal in a spiritual sense. IE: Our soul can never die, so if god were to come down to our level, that wouldn't make him mortal because we wouldn't be mortal either.
In any case, why would caring about something less than you take you down to that level?
