On Shifting Consciousness

Does anyone know of any techniques they use to alter consciousness (aside from drugs)? Like meditation and things of this sort.

I typically use meditation, either classically or through daydreaming.

Does anyone have anything better?

there is a very simple method to alter your consciousness... realize that all form is empty, and your consciousness will go in whatever direction feels new and right. energy and consciousness is infinite in power and scope because there are no definable limits. emptiness. confused? how do you go about realizing this?

step 1. realize that even your confusion is empty.

step 2. isn't realization empty too then?

step 3. no, it's not.

step 4. still confused? then you're still on step 1.

Who is the Yogi your talking about Mind....? I know there is a story about Ram Dass(Formaly the partner of Timothy Leary in his early testing days.) Who once he was back in America, after studing with his Guru in India for a number of years I think, he once again used LSD and it had no effect at all on him, basicaly because he was past it.

As for speed in spiritual persutes, that is realy up to the person, For example Ramaknrishna was initiated into Samadhi by His Guru in one week, what to the latter 40 years to accomplish.

My opion is that if you can't get these experiences without using drugs, then your probably haven't ernt them, and ready to have them, the two being one thing. This is unless the drugs are administered by a Spiritual Adept/Teacher (as part of your training.)

"But remember if you call within the next thiry seconds, we'll throw in your chioce of on Siddhas free." -not to be offensive, but it's the kind of images these things conjure up for me.

Ps. The best way to alter your conciousness drugs included, is to love, as much as you can, quanitivly and qualitively.

You shouldn't only be thinking about the best way to get there, but what effect you will have and wan't to have once you do.
