No, I'm not being sacreligious, because I don't think there really is one. But I was thinking about the Bible, and how it describes God. Well, humans create their own reality through perception, we gave ourselves free will to do what we want, nobody can take it from us. Bad actions create negative feelings and emotions for us, like sending ourselves to hell, and vice-versa. I know there are points in the Bible that say things like god forbids you to eat the meat of cloven animals, but I'm not going into that, just touching off on the basics all people know. Faith in God is faith in ourselves, we pray, but we ourselves make our prayers come true through our own action or the actions of others. I just think it's interesting how the major monotheistic religions can be interpreted through an allegory such as this one.

Ignore the unbeliever!
Sure thats a good idea. I believe that the reason God made up those rules was to test His people. Not test their devotion to Him, but rather to test their strength of will. A person's character is better measured in their willingness to do things that others would or could not do without help.

Maybe he got tired of so many idiots communicating with him. Or maybe he's on vacation. Or maybe he's just decided not to listen to any of you, because this entire world is going to hell soon...

And yet, Why would "god" expect to test our will power, when he, himself does not show any sign today that he exists. Not that he did before.. I think it's all a bunch of crap. Anyways there are holes in everything, so I'm not going to go into detail about it.

Re: I am God
i dont understand, G-Prime, are you angry at God? Do you NOT like helping people, or the morals that follows with belief of God? The only reason you dont believe in God, is because of lack of actual evidence?
lol calm down, im not accusing you or anything, just some questions.
Having FAITH is just that. Trusting God, having faith in him, loving him, i dont need physical proof he exists, i feel him inside me, thats all the proof i need really. =) Try prayer, you'll feel God's touch during it, i remember when i was Athiest, for all the same reasons you are, and then somehow i once decided to get down on my knees and pray, life was rough so i tried it, and everything improved, i prayed more, and became closer.. etc... Now im a proud Christian =)
Don't worry, im not trying to convert you or anything, just trying to provide insight into why people cannot describe their faith to their religion, they simply cannot, the Bible? The bible was written by man, and in another era all together haha, so i hope you sort of understand why people have faith better now =)

How can somebody be angry at something they don't think exists?
Why can't somebody help people or be moral without pretending there's a mystical entity watching all of us?
quote:i feel him inside me, thats all the proof i need really. =) Try prayer, you'll feel God's touch during it
At least you're willing to admit that your belief is irrational.
Try meditation, or drugs or dancing like a dervish. You'll feel God's touch, except you don't need all the spiritual baggage that comes with Christianity.

If it works for you, great.
Faith doesn't work for me, however, because I like to believe in things that are true rather than things that make me feel good.
As long as you can respect that difference (ie. not try to impose your faith on me through laws, proselytization, etc.) we're fine.

Re: I am God
really? me too.
god created man in his own image. self loathing christians just dont get it.
god is man. man is god.
not man in ONE man, in the whole mankind deal. god is humanity, all of them, all before, all to come. the whole idea of mankind was created in gods image.
