There is a theory that one word in the Bible was mistranslated from Hebrew into whatever, and now I have the feeling that the word was "resurrection"...

But I just can't remember.

I can see if the original word for the title of the bible was mistranslated, and actually meant fiction, but how does one word being mistranslated in the text encompass the entire Bible?

Yes! It was virgin! So the whole concept of the imacculate (sp) conception was pretty much false...

Furthermore, how can you be the messiah, the direct descendant of King David if your mother is a virgin?

Even if she weren't a virgin, how can you be descended from David if your father was a deity?

Is this directed towards me? I am going to give you a chance to retract that. Reread that post, then do it one more time. Think about it and then come back and tell me from which you derived that I was a devout atheist.

The Bible says that Jesus is desended from David on his fathers side.

No. Good attempt at a guess, though.

On the virgin thing, again, the two geneolgies given for Jesus of Nazareth are differnt- one shows how he would "legally" through Joseph would be descended from David the other is how he would be "physically" through Mary.

One thing i dont understand is how the bibles in the original language could be mistranslated?

A lot of the bible is a translation of the Egyptian Book of The Dead.

Cheers,

I don't see Mary mentioned as anything other than Joseph's wife.
