What does the Christian religion say about drug use? I need to know what the Bible says about it, but so far I haven't found anything good or bad about it, so I need some assistance.

Jesus Drank wine, I think. Alcohol is a drug.

So, I assume that if Jesus did it, drug use should be OK, since Jesus was pure throughout his life, which would suggest that the partaking of alcohol was not a sin, which would suggest that drugs are OK under the eyes of god. Or, it would suggest that Alcohol is ok under the eyes of god.

Anyways, who cares. Life is too short to make decisions based on a book that was written thousands of years ago.

Like the guy above said, just do it.

Don't do it if you don't want to.

Sorry, just felt that that needed to be said.

But Jesus didn't stumble around all drunk. Use but don't abuse. Actually you're not supposed to do anything that defile's your body.

Okay, but does that include marijuana? I need to know if the Bible says it's OKAY OR NOT.

haha one time I read this long web page about how they used cannabis in some oil that they anointed Jesus with when he was a kid.

*shrug*

Who cares, do what you want. Tomorrow is the first day of school and I plan on going in high as a kite, just so that the day goes by fast and so that I dont care about the teachers/kids/anything...

Well, look, to discern what is good and bad regarding the Bible, just read the 10 commandments (dunno how it's called in english). Those 10 rules are the only you have to follow to be (according to the Bible) correct. They don't talk about any drugs/mind-altering substances so you can do as much as you want even before going to church as long as you respect the commandments. Taking drugs will only harm your health... you are though responsible of your acts and while on certain drugs, you will most likely do things you wouldn't do in a sober state of mind so be carefull.

IMO, God dosen't mind if you take drugs (well, he do worry about your health though). If you do bad things while under the influence of the said drug, well it's your fault and not the drug's (it is you who took it, nobody forced you to).

This is only my oppinion.

Pot should be just fine. It's not defiling your body, since it's not harmful Well, the smoke is, but you can always use a vaporizer. No negative health effects whatsoever, that way For those who don't know what a vaporizer is, it's a device that heats the plant material hot enough to vaporize the THC (the active chemical), but not hot enough to make the plant burn; then you breathe the vapor in. THC isn't a harmful chemical at all, so absorbing it through your lungs doesn't do any sort of lung damage, and there's no smoke at all, so you're all good.

Alcohol is harmful, but not in small quantities. That's probably why Jesus drank a little.

Pot is just fine IMO too. The smoke is bad but it is in any circumstances so basicly, even if you smoke fruits (witch are good for you) you could get cancer and lung problems. TCH itself is not that bad. Negative effects of the THC (THC only, not smoke) on heavy regular smokers are psychological and not physical. For occasional smokers, THC is eliminated in some days so afterward, the body works just as fina as before. For heavy smokers, THC is always present in larger quantities in the body and since the THC receptors are located on the top of the brain, it is logical to think that it affects you mentally as long as it is in your body. Fortunately, it is somehow rare that someone will have serious psychological problems due to THC like frequent and unusual memory lost (you forgot important things you wouldn't), very slow reaction times, not beeing able to concentrate properly and beeing very paranoid all the time. For occasional smokers like me, effects on the brain are almost inexistant as I can barely find any (even my parents that have smoked weed before don't actually know I smoke and have been for years).

It's all about dosage. If you don't smoke like a fireplace you shoud be fine.

there is absolutly nothing in the holy bible that protrays drugs as a negative sorce of energy.

However, it does say "dont do anything that might harm your temple" or something like that. Theres a fine line between use and abuse, and as long as you realize that line, everything should be fine.

i read somewhere that there was something called "manna" in the bible... it is described and believed to be identical to a mushroom, specifically the mushrooms containing psilocybin, or the amanita.

Manna is mystical energy - psychic power, or spiritual force. I don't think it's anything physical.

Manna is what the Hebrews ate for sustinence while they were wandering through the desert for 40 years.

Every night, the manna would fall to the ground, and the Hebrews would gather in in the morning. It's what helped them survive, and God apparently made it so.

I think it's some sort of fungus.

The bible does not name such substances as heroin, cocaine, LSD, PCP, marijuana, and tobacco. But it does provide needed guidelines so that we can know what to do and what to avoid in order to please God. Similarly, the Bible does not say that it is wrong to use a gun to kill someone, but it dows forbid murder.

Using any substance that does harm your physical and/or psychological well being is in direct contrast to the idea of keeping your body clean because it is a temple.

Many people say if it's wrong than why did God make plants that can be used in this way....to this I say....

God made marijuana plants ... yes...which provide useful fibersfor making rope and cloth. Tobacco leaves can also be used in making disinfectants and insecticides. Rigarding many of earth's resources, much is yet to be learned as to how they can be beneficially employed. Even weeds are beneficial in preventing erosion and providing mulch when soil is not under cultivation.

True...marijuana does bring a temporary pleasure when used improperly but remember..."In the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. Gor men will be.......lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God.....From these turn away." 2 Timothy 3:1-5(very long scripture so i replaced some of it with ......look it up for the entire scripture)

To start with, the misconception that the only laws to follow were the ten commandments... read the book man, there were hundreds of commandments, governing all aspects of Jewish life, and if you broke one you broke them all, try reading the advice book before issueing advice from it. Now to the original question, like any advice book, the book could not cover all the present and future situations that could come up, so basic guidelines were issued and then common sense should apply, a rule number one of that should be.. If thou hast to ask wether it is a good act or a sinful act, thou shalt determine thine own mind, for the lord thy God has given thou a brain....use it.

Gentiles need only follow the seven Noahide laws.

And all 7 of those are pretty good ideas in their own right.

You learn many things in life, one of the most important is to base your "opinion" on facts, if you don't, then its not an "opinion" its the raving of either a mis-informed child, or a madman.

Now if there is any part of the YOU dont understand, I know three other living languages I could try, and one dead language, take your pick. But get your facts straight.
