Network (in)Security Interesting hacks and cracks. Info on firewalls, TCP/IP, encryption, networks, and security. The ins and outs of the phone system, caller services, how things work, what's illegal and what's not, cellular phones, beepers, telephony legislation, the PUC, ISDN, taps, who's listening, and switches. Talking about phones, hacking systems, technical advice, and such is completely LEGAL in the United States -- it's covered by the First Amendment. What's illegal is conspiracy to commit a crime. So if you say something like "Meet me at 2am so we can crack a can" or "I changed my cell phone's number myself" you are criminally liable. Stating "You can crack a can by doing thus-and-so" or "If you wanted to change a cell phone's number, you could do it like so" is perfectly OK. Posting passwords, calling card numbers, or credit card numbers is forbidden on this network. Posting such info will get you booted off the net.

Default an excellent theory

in a hypothetical since, what if there was this guy online who went by the name searcysyndicate and he went on a BBS called "kotse.com" lets say. now lets assume that he bugs the hell out of everyone and the moderators keep closing his threads. Now a possible solution would be to ignor him, but that would only make him post more threads. My theory is that if he got a virus (somehow), and his computer crashed, that he wouldn't be able to post anymore annoying messages online (too bad). will someone tell me if my theory is correct?

That was a good laugh, but I don't remember bangbus having to do with this!?

Plus, I don't post new topics to annoy, I post topics because it is nagging at me add with material read from this section, and I compare.

I think we could hypothetically arrange for a virus. But however will we do it? *sigh*

But honestly, Nobody would have a problem with you if you just "listened" to what the mods have told you and learnt from it.

People are here because they need help (and will return it when they are knowledgeable enough) or want to help other people. Time to choose were you stand. Because I cant see the mods putting up with this much longer.

I would like to see that bangbus thread your talking about, and also did you guys send me that howling, then root cake audio virus, and the only reason I stay and post is because I wanted answers and at the time get curious about something else also, like the cartoon that always replied "Why"?
