Network (in)Security Interesting hacks and cracks. Info on firewalls, TCP/IP, encryption, networks, and security. The ins and outs of the phone system, caller services, how things work, what's illegal and what's not, cellular phones, beepers, telephony legislation, the PUC, ISDN, taps, who's listening, and switches. Talking about phones, hacking systems, technical advice, and such is completely LEGAL in the United States -- it's covered by the First Amendment. What's illegal is conspiracy to commit a crime. So if you say something like "Meet me at 2am so we can crack a can" or "I changed my cell phone's number myself" you are criminally liable. Stating "You can crack a can by doing thus-and-so" or "If you wanted to change a cell phone's number, you could do it like so" is perfectly OK. Posting passwords, calling card numbers, or credit card numbers is forbidden on this network. Posting such info will get you booted off the net.

While on IRC I got an ad for a hotmail cracker. The link is hxxp://hmcracker.tripod.com. I find it very interesting how it says no ISP, no anti-piracy group, (and in bold) no anti-virus groups may enter the website. I'm 99% positive this is a virus, scanners however, did not pick it up. If anyone who knows what they're doing wants to take a look at it feel free and maybe its a worth-while tool. I'd normally get out a disassembler/numega's debugger for vb, but this is too suspicious and I don't want to risk it. If anyone has a dedicated "fuck-around" with PC handy maybe they want to mess with it.

Why bother? Delete it. There is nothing with enough importants on hotmail that needs viewing.

Know what you should do if you want hotmail passwords SO BAD? Make a trojan virus called "hotmail cracker" and put it on kazaa, its that simple. Tell your friends how well it works.

I don't have any reason to get hotmail accounts; I don't even know why anyone would want to. But some people do, and you mentioned make a trojan that is called hotmailcrack, thats apparently what they did, but maybe someone wants to prove different.

Why this obsession with hotmail?

Is this the tool you claimed actually works for cracking hotmail in another thread? You don't seem so confident now...

Also, those disclaimers saying certain groups CANNOT enter a website are bullshit and hold no legal meaning. It's like putting a sign on your door saying "No police officers or federal agents are allowed to enter this building" and then hinting you are growing some pot in the basement... even if the cops might not have a warrant when they raid your house, and even though it might not be "legal" you're still fucked.

How sad.

Yeah, right. If you knew HOW it worked... it would ruin the fun

I whipped through it with a hex editor (I run linux) and nothing too suspicious poped up. I am going to play with it in wine once I have it compiled and built.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother verifying it's validity for any actual use... I'm more in the mood of disproving this "hotmail backdoor" that no one can know about because "it wouldn't be fun" if they did...
