yeah, I remember seeing that, those frames in the various scenes that show brief pictures of Tyler. also, you can see the cock in the hilarious movie theatre scene, the one were it shows tyler splicing a picture of a Dick on the movie reels, and when it breifly flashes, the little girl starts to cry and old people get all wide-eyed and shit. hilarious stuff.

I was bored one night and watched the entire movie with the closed caption thingy on...so I could read all their words. Norton's Character's name is referred to depending on who he is talking to......to Bob..he is Cornelius....remember the part when he (ed) gives his phone number to marla????

she says "this doesn't even have your name on it....who are you, rupert, and of those stupid names you give in group?"

so I don't know...but the captioning thing says "rupert" when he speaks???

Alright, I've watched Fight Club many, many times(far too many for my own good, but I absolutely worship that movie) and I'll clear up some things about it.

First off, it never says in the movie OR the book what the Narrarator's real name is. Never. Not once. He simply has no name because(in my opinion) it's trying to show that he could be anybody. He could be any one of the middle-aged, hard-working guys fed up with life and their jobs and the world that were in the Fight Club. Make sense yet?

Secondly, there are more than just three subliminal shots in the movie. There is(naming them in the order I think of them):

- One at the copy machine in the beginning ("..everything's just a copy of a(cue scene) copy, of a copy")

- One in the doctor's office (sometime around the time when he's telling him about the meeting at first Methodist)

-One as Marla is walking away, before he ever talks to her(she's in the alley at the point that it flashes)

- Then, of course, the not so subliminal shot with him in the far right during the Pressman Hotel welcome video(they all spread their arms and say "Welcome!". This ties in with the fact that "Tyler" had a job there)

- The first real good shot of him as he passes him on the conveyor-belt type thing at the air-port

- Him jumping into the red car after the Narrarator loses his stuff. It's funny because a guy starts chasing after him saying "Hey, that's my car!"

- Oh yeah, He's also at the first "Remaining Men Together" meeting(that's a subliminal flash)

- Last, but not least, there's the clip of a nice, big cock at the very, very end as "Where Is My Mind?" begins to play and the Narrarator and Marla join hands.

Another couple of interesting tidbits, here, if you look really closely, the phone he calls Tyler on has a little sign that says "No incoming calls." Plus, Tyler has a rotary phone(as we find out later at his house), and *69 doesn't work on rotary phones(they are the kind that you spin the little thingy on.)

Also, when they crash the car, Tyler is on the driver's side to begin with, but when he crawls out of the wreckage, they have changed sides!

Brad Pitt is also wearing this one tank top kind of shirt at the end of the movie that has all kinds of black porn stars in explicit poses on it. The funny thing is, they showed it on the TV guide channel, hehe.

You know how the penguin(his power animal) says "Slide!" and giggles? Okay, well in the second "power animal" scene where marla is there instead, it sounds like she says "Slide.." but in caption(at least on mine) she says "It's a lie."

One final thing as I'm wrapping this up, there's the scene at the very end where Tyler dies and he says "What's that smell?". Well that has something to do with a main who had a brain tumor(I believe) and for a while before he died, he claimed he kept smelling burining chicken feathers.

Anyyyhow...that's quite a bit of info about Fight Club, and it should last you a while .

hey, sry if someone already said this but i only glanced over the replies so far. but anyway, from what i understand the main character is never given a name. also, when tyler flashes on screen, it is to represent the idea that tyler is slowly taking over. each time he is flashed on screen it is for just a little bit longer than the time before, therefore he is controlling more and more, until the end when tyler takes complete control, because the main character realizes that he is tyler.

just wondering, but how did you get that screen shot to work? whenever i try to take a SS, no matter waht player i sue, i just get a black screen where the moviewould be.

Anyway,the film 'fight club' had alot of twitches and random odd bits that you may not conciously notice,but you would be able to tell something wasnt..quite..right.

The whole point of that was to set up the freeky atmosphere of the film, and to further make viewers see how tyler was seeing things, the weird hallucinations,the way everything twitched,the way every thing seemed discoloured..ect...

This is strange, but in one of the Beastie Boy's songs, there's a line that says "Ed Nortan, Ted Night and Mr.Edtv", or something that sounds like that. Is this just a coincidence or what?

To take a screen shot all I did was tap the print screen button. It doesn't work on my computer when its in full screen mode. I just get a black image too.
