i have two stories worth mentioning that i can remember off the top of my head.

1. just after i was born and my parents put me to bed id start crying. this might seem normal, but they would put me there after i was already asleep and id wake up within 5 minutes screaming. this went on for a few weeks atleast. well one night after my dad got me to go to sleep in his arms he put me to bed and of course i started crying. he went in to check on me and he said he "felt like someone was there". when he looked over by my crib he noticed that the wall above me looked like it was breathing.. he called my mother in and she saw it too, without my father telling her about it. i think my mother yelled something like "get out of my house" and it just sort of faded out. i never cried in that room again.

2. when i was 4 or 5 i was over my grandmas house playing in one of those little cars you can ride around in. i went to go say hi to my grandpa who had ms and couldnt move. right after i said hi to him i heard something go "hehehehehe". i know it wasnt my grandpa because 1. it was much louder than he could talk and just didnt sound like him and 2. he was in the middle of a sentence when i heard it. it was really "evil"(?) sounding and freaked me out. i looked over to where it was comming from and there was this black *thing* sitting under my grandmas night table. it was never there before and i just knew something wasnt right. flame me if you want nephtys but i know what i saw heard and felt. so anyway i run out of the room screaming and go tell my dad and grandma. they go back into the room and look where i told them i saw it but they didnt find anything. i went back in with them and nothing was there.

i made a little clay model of what it looked like and ill post the pic later. it was very strange looking and maybe 2 feet long by 6 inches tall and 7-8 inches wide.

wow man, thats crazy, a friend of mine told me once he was Smoking bongs with this girl at a cemetary that was kinda in the middle of nowhere (fuck knows why), they were in his car, he said the girl went for a piss in some bushes, it was so dead quiet he could hear her pissing, then she came back in the car, they smoked some more and they heard a knock on the back of the car, he turned around, no one there, he didnt hear them walk up to the car or anything which he should of, since it was a gravel road and it was so damn quiet, so he just started the car and got the fuck out.

I used to work in the cafeteria of The Catholic College in my town. We had a wedding reception in the basement of the church. A friend of mine and I were slacking off so we had to stay after. Our boss decided to stay after with us and talk to us. He was telling us about all the secret passage ways the priest can take under the school, and a couple of the Exorcisms that have happend at the school. He also told us how some of the woman that work there wont work after a certain hour because they see nuns walking around, and there hasnt been any nuns at the school since the early 1900's. We had dishes left to clean and we also had to sweep and mop the dining room. We decided to sweep and mop first. As I was sweeping and my friend was mopping behind me, we heard a few sounds from the kitchen. We ignored it. Then when we went to go wash the dishes, they were all done and put away. It was a shit load of dishes too. So we just accepted it, clocked out, and went home.

Kind of lame, but it really happend.

When i was a baby i lived at my grandmothers and at night you could here footsteps going up and down the stairs all night and if you ever went to check it out it would stop. It didn't scare anyone because it was just an accepted ghost in the house. When my mom was younger she lived there too with her brothers and sisters and they even named the ghost because he would always be around walking up the stairs and turning lights on and off..same with the tv. When my grandmother was little she used to lay in bed and you could see an imprant appear on the bed like someone had just sit and then it would go away as suddenly as it appeared. Alot of freaky stuff but you never really got a scared feeling. We believe it was the old man who lived there before who had died there. Supposedly he was a nice guy. I have this picture from the house with a streak of light (purpleish yellowish) going across a room...it even goes infront of someone and doesnt break or anything.

I grew up in a funeral home. I have millions of ghost stories. But, I'll just say a few better ones:

1. This was more like a "mass hallucination". My family had just sat down to dinner when we all heard a strangers voice say "Hey." We all looked, at the same time, to the end of the table and saw there was a large, black, guy with short dreds sitting at the end of the table. We looked back at each other and he was gone.

2. I don't know what this was, but my old bedroom was upstairs from the actual prep room and there was a door that led to the stairs down to it. Anyways, one night I heard a crash in the prep room. This is a really bad sign, because there should be anyone/thing in there that's alive. So, I took a nail gun and went down there and found one of the dead bodies, face down beside the prep table. Who the fuck knows how that happened, but whatever it was, it wasn't kosher.

3. I was once walking to the bus stop for school and I noticed this woman walk out from behind our house. I figured she was just lost, since we lived on the site of a cemetary and I didn't think anything of it until she seemed to be coming straight for me. I figured it was in my head and I just stopped at the bus stop and pretended not to notice. She came and stood beside me and was staring at me.

I asked her "Can I help you with something? I live in The Gallery." That's what we call the funeral home, but she didn't say anything at first and I continued "I'm just going to school."

"I feel strange." She then said and she sounded wierd, may be almost like she had a bubble in her throat but it was all wierd and echoey. I thought I was hearing things because it was windy or something and I just told her to go in the house, but suddenly it was like she had never been there at all.

4. Also there was a time, when I was about thirteen, when wierd shit started happening, but no one ever saw a ghost. Just things would happen, like my mum stepped on a piece of glass and the glass was like big and it vanished in her hand. I was attacked mysteriously by a bottle of shampoo once. Stuff like that. But, it went away.

Cheers,

Lost

One time back in England, me and some friends decided to go to an old insane asylum. This insane asylum looked like a very large manor and was secluded and pretty far from actual human activity. So anyway, we got in through one of the windows.

Well inside this asylum they had those large tubs full of water that were used for placing the patient in and shocking them. The water was still in the tub but it was all murky and green. Well we were just looking around the room and we heard a splash. We looked back at the tub and the water was crystal clear and there were all these ripples and waves in the water like something had just moved. Also some of the water was on the floor. Well the clearness of the water only lasted for about a second because it was back to being murky and green. But my friend Kyle said he swore he saw something in the water. So we dared James to stick his hand in the water and fish out whatever it was. Well, he didn't stick his hand in but he used this iron pipe which was very thin to swish the water around.

He pulled up what looked like a straight jacket and from inside the jacket, swam out a VERY large red bellyed snake. It scared the SHIT out of us. So we ran out of that room and we were gonna go back hom because we were freaking out because that place had a spooky vibe.

When we started going back to our window, one of the doors down the hall slammed OPEN, with so much force it echoed through the halls, and we heard static and gurgling, like the kind you hear when you blow bubbles in the bathtub.

So we went home and did some research on it and found out that one method they used for patients was to put a snake into the water with them, and electrocute the patient in hopes of the evil energy flowing out into the snake.

Now you guys, this place was closed down for A WHILE. Like way over 20 years. Why a snake was still in that water, I don't know.

And the gurgling and door slamming was the scariest thing that has ever happened. I'm gonna go cry now since I had to re-live that just now.

Owned.

But on topic this isn't to freak, but involves a ghost.

When i was maybe 10 or 11 durring the middle of the summer my dad put my matress in my living room because it was too hot in my room and the living room had an air conditioner in it. so i was laying on it and i had drifted in and out of sleep. i woke up again and looked on my couch to see what looked like a very skinny pale person dressed in a pilgrimish outfit. it was just laying there with it's hands ontop of one another on his abdomen with his mouth wide open. It looked like a man, but as if it was made out of only skin and bone. I pinched my self a few times to see it i was awake. I also turned a way a few times and looked back and it was still there. It was just laying on my couch so i decided to go to sleep cowering in fear.

Me and my mom used to think my old house was haunted. we could nevr get it really clean. it wasn't like food was on the walls and shitty, but it was cluttered at times. my dad and sister have a tendency to just toss their stuff where ever; so that could explain it.

Kind of goofy how these are written so much better than the majority of stories on Totse.

Hm....

Well, none of mine count since they were all most likely hallucinations, (I was on mushrooms/hadn't slept in 48 hours/etc) Whats goofy is its the SAME thing, haha. When I'm sober, the corner is darker, not for any reason I could explain, its just...darker. But I think theres a shadow I'm missing. (I don't really care enough to look, no ones owned the house before us so I don't even think theres teh possibility of a ghost, haha)

In the corner of my room, I always see this girl, maybe about 11 years old. Nothing really wierder than that, though one time her eyes were missing (Not clawed out or bloody or anything, just...missing.) She never moves. Just watches.

Generally, I just never go in the room alone when I'm under the influence of anything.

Well I've never really had a paranormal experience, but my grandfather moved to Pittsburgh a few years ago after my grandmother died. It's a nice house, fairly new. It's a split level, with a basement, ground, 1/2, and 2nd floors. The ground floor has a fireplace in the lower TV room. I had to sleep there one night, and I just got that overwhelmingly creeped feeling.. did you ever have that feeling where your eyes get all watery and you get scared as fuck? (could someone explain that?).. anyway it also happens when I go down there in the middle of the night.. it's happened a few other times at various places. I'm going to actually start looking for abnormal things from now on.

Anyway my great aunt used to live in a townhouse, and she said lights would turn off, the shower would turn on, the TV would do crazy shit, etc nightly. At her current house in harrisburgh there used to be a person on a bicycle who rode by at 2-3 AM in the morning for about a month. I'm not sure if this was a ghost but it's creepy. Her house also gives me that feeling. it's full of antiques and in all seriousness probably has nothing newer than 1970 (mabye with the exception of the TV and fridge)

When I was fifteen, I went with my Mom and aunt to visit some family in Mississippi. nobody there had any room for us to stay so my aunts friend offered to let us stay at an old house he was renovating so we accepted the offer and followed him for about an hour to a very rural area.

This was the only house in the area and I when we got there I asked him why there weren't any other houses around and he told us this story, I can't remember all of it but here it goes.

Back in the civil war the confederate's came through and burned down all the houses in that area except this one because when they where preparing to burn down the house the women who lived there got down on her knees and started to pray, the general who was leading the troops ordered them not to burn down the house because he was of the same religion as the woman. In gratitude for sparring her house she gave them food and helped there wounded solders.

So we all go into this old house which is pretty freaky and unpack all our stuff in this room right off the main hall. There were two bunk beds facing the hallway and I was in the top bunk with a perfect view of the door way. there wasn't a door so I could see right into the hall and the room across from us.

While I was laying there trying to sleep I heard foot steps and saw a man in a confederate uniform walk slowly down the hall, it was the freakiest thing I've ever seen.

After a night of restless sleep I told my Mom and aunt the story but they didn't believe me. But the rest of the time we were down there I slept on the floor at my cousins and wouldn't go back to the house.

a couple nights later they heard a loud banging in the room across from them and when they went to see what it was they found that the table had been knocked over. after that they believed me

Sorry it was so long but that's how it went.

Did she happen to have bluish skin and sat there with her mouth open?

I saw one time when I was trying to get to sleep a girl in my vanity mirror staring (well, not really since she didn't have eyes) at me. As mentioned above, she had bluish skin (but it might have just been the moonlight), no eyes, an open mouth, and pale hair. She also had dark circles under her eye sockets. I just saw her face but it still scared me.

When i got back to the hotel that evening, i was at the end of the hallway from my hotel room and i saw an eerie greenish glow formed like an old man waiting outside my hotel room. then i got a different room!

This isnt about me, but my grandpa.

My grandpa, all around, is a real bad ass. Hes had the whiskey pumped out of his stomach over 5 times and he can fight like no one I've ever seen. But anyway, when he was younger, him and hsi friends decided to go out to the cemetary. To fuck around and what not. When they got out there, they were walking through the cemetary trying to scare the girls with them and what. Then, my grandpa's friend dared him to lay on one of the graves. Being the daredevil he is, my grandpa accepted the challenge. He laid back first on the area in front of a tombstone, and stayed there for about 45 seconds. Thena ll of a sudden he jumps up and starts running faster than hell toward the car! His friends run after him, and when they get there he has the car started and is telling thme to get in. They drive away. After they get away they ask him why he ran and everything. So he shows them his back, and his shirt is shredded and their scratches all down his back where he laid on that grace. He still has the scars today.

i got 3

1. a while ago when i was baout 10 or 11 before we remodeled our house i woke up late one night only to see a glowing figure within 2 feet of my face, i was terrified but i noticed it was holding what looked like a small toy car, after that i pull the covers over my head and fell asleep, that sucked though cuz i was so scared i didnt even lift the cover a little bit for air

2. same secenario but i woke up and there was an old man smoking a cigar in a rocking chair looking at me, recently i asked my mom about anyone old and smoked but she didnt know of any

3. me and my sister and some friends went to the old saint josephs hospital in downtown houston sometime in octocober, we snuck under the gate and went inside. It was old and broken like what you would expect and it always seemed like someone was there. Then my friend lights a cigarette and when he blows the smoke he drops the cigarette in fear because there was a face looking in the smoke, but no one else saw it. After that nothing interesting happened until we went to the very top to the generator room where we heard a weird giggle, then we made our way back down to ground floor and decided to explore the crematory, very spooky. Things were creaking around us and the air really stunk like burnt flesh . After that we stopped by the slave quarters ( a bunch of planks of wood aka beds) which was now the info storage, we picked up some random hospital visitation tags from 19 something but they were old . Then on the way out another group of people were coming in the crematory and scared the shit out of us, it was a mexican girl and 2 mexy guys ( oh btw this was all around 2am) after meeting them we all explored some more and we went into this one room and the mexicans were following behind us and they just fucking disappeared i mean they were in the room next door and you cant sneak away with all the crap on the floor without being heard, after that we left

sorry about the boring stories

one more haha

when my aunt used to live in my house she had a dream she was in an indian village and another village was attacking, the chief told her to hide in the closet and she would be safe and when she woke up she was inside her closet curled in a ball

also anytime we dig a hole in our yard something weird happens, fish disapeear without a trace, things just disappear

I've enjoyed reading every one's ghostly stories, they've all been great.

The story i'm about to unfold for you, takes place in the very first house that I lived in after moving out of my parents house. Finally I was on my own. It was a nice little house, just big enough for me. Little did I know, I wasn't the only one that lived there.

During the evening hours, I'd hear strange sounds coming from the kitchen area, but ever time I got to investigate, there'd be nothing there. Except the cupboard doors would all be wide open. I'd close them and go back to the living room. By morning the doors would be open again, when i'd go in there for breakfast.

It wasn't until my girlfriend at the time stayed with me for while and sleep over did any thing go crazy. She would have "wake up screaming" nightmares. When i'd ask her about them, she'd just say that something was trying to kill her. When I asked her what this thing looked like, she'd discribe a black outlined whisp of a ghost that had red beady eyes and orange flamed tongue. He carried a double bladed axe. She said it was the same dream over and over.

After about a week of dreams, I'd come home to find, not only the kitchen cupboards open, but now all my stuff that was in them, would be sitting out on the counter's or the table. Every door inside the house would be open. And usually the contents, would be some where else besides where they should be. Often times now, the tv would turn on by itself in the middle of the night, lights would come on or go off. In the evening time we'd light candles and place them around the house, only to go back 5 or 10 minutes later, so see them blown out. This house was so small that it didn't have central heat or air.

As soon as my gf moved out and stayed away for a while, thing quieted down, but never stopped completely. I was definately looking for a new house. I had found one and was moving, I came back one last time to make sure, every thing was cleaned up. I had a few posters on one wall of my bedroom, so i was going to take the thumb tacks, but never actually finished. Because I'd take one thumb tack out of the top of the poster and the thumb tack opposite of me also was pulling itself out from the wall, at the same time. It was as if there was a connection or string between the two. I'd slowly reach for the bottom thumb tack and watched as i pulled my side out, in unison it was pulled with it. I got this errie feeling, goose bumps, and the hair stood up all over my body. I back out of the bedroom, backed out the front door, closed it, locked and left.

The last thing i did was look back at the house as i was driving by it. There in a window at the back of house stood a grey hooded figure, solid grey and beadie red eyes. I never looked back after that.

I've since been by that house 1000 times, but i never look at the window at the back of the house. And I was told, by a friend of my mom's, after I had moved out, that before I'd moved in there, there lived a couple that did witch craft and other sayonces(sp.) while they had lived there.

I regulalrly see "things" in my new house. I'll be walking from my room to my bathroom and I'll see something out of the corner of my eye, when I turn and look it'll be like... a small floating ball. This happens atleast twice every day. Sometimes it happens even more though.

Actual story:

I was sitting in the living room a few months ago watching "Lost" with my mom. *btw, thats a great show. Anyways, she started talking about religion n'stuff, since we have different religions I basically ignored her. I layed down in my seat, like with my head where my feet're supposed to be. And all of a sudden, in a husky voice I hear, "What're you doing?" I fall off the seat and look around like, wtf? And my mom just kinda looks at me and then keeps going on. I tell her that I'll be right back and proceed to go to the bathroom. As I'm walking past my pantry, which now flys open if you barely crack it, I feel a solid tap on my shoulder. I turn and look behind me and my mom is just sitting there watching the TV. I shake my head and then I hear, "I'll be seeing you later." in that same husky voice. I flip out and just run and jump on the couch beside my mom.

Yea, I like ghosts, that one was a bit creepy though.

I have something, I think it might have been my first paranormal experience

I was sleeping in the guest room of my aunt and uncles house in baltimore; it's an old house, build circa 1900. Anyway I was just about to go to sleep when I see a figure move across the room, like it had been there when I wasn't looking. I can't be sure but I got freaked out and hid under the covers for about an hour.

Jesus.

obviously you have never been able to enjoy the pleasures of smoking weed. you don't hear shit dumb ass! lol hahahaha fucking retard

Anyways the same thing kinda happened to me and my friend late one night. We were chillin out in this gravel parking lot that was about 10 miles out of town. It wasnt very big at all and there were trees surrounding the entire parking lot except for the entrance. It is a lot for a bunch of nature trails called the "ice age trails" and it kind of reminds me of a nature cultasac because it is very secluded and tucked away from the road.

It was about 2:00 in the morning, and we were kicking back talking over a blunt. Ironically we were discussing how there were RUMORS of the ice age trails being haunted by native americans. We kind of got creeped out and there was this akward, strange silence that filled the air. And what ever it was had the perfect timing because out of no were we here this tapping on my roof. At first, we look at each other with these very skeptical look in are eyes. I thought it was my friend trying to fuck with me. But i swear i could hear like finger nails tapping the metal ON TOP of the car. We continued to look at each other when we heard a second rapping on my roof. We got the fuck out of there. The strange thing was, was that we used to go ther all the time to break up, and weigh out are bags and we never heard anything like that. And it wasnt something falling out of a tree because that has an echo effect as the object loses its speed bouncing off the ground. It was a rapping, it sounded so much like someone just tapping on the car with there finger nails.

I know this sounds alot like that urban legend but there wasnt anyone dead hanging from a tree swaying in the wind scrapping the roof of my car. lol

frankly, i am an atheist and im not too sure how much i believe in this paranormal stuff. <b>but</b> i firmly believe that the house i used to live in was haunted. i lived there from age 5 until about a year ago and the entire time was riddled with weird happenings.

there were always noises. when we got a computer, it was just down the hall from my bedroom. i remember when i was a kid, i would hear typing on the computer at night, knowing that everyone was in their bedrooms and nowhere near the computer.

i was a kid and it scared me so i woke up my mom and said that i kept hearing noises and that someone was in the house and they were typing on the computer. half asleep she would answer that it was my father although he was in bed next to her. that was really scary because it happened for years and my brother tells me now that he remembers hearing it too.

there were also always noises in the attic and in the walls. i would sometimes hear what sounded like footsteps paceing slowly up and down the attic.

other times, especially in my bedroom, i could hear what sounded like a banging in the wall. it sounded like someone was in the wall right next to where my head was and would knock and bang around. that wall faced the outside, it couldnt have been my brother or something.

since this happened when i was a kid, i didnt really realize how weird it was until i got older. i guess i figured that if my parents werent worried it wasnt something that was dangerous.

scary shit. i dont believe in ghosts, but i KNOW there was fucking something in that house. my brother will vouch that it happened.

Did this usually happen the most during the winter and other cold times? The same thing used to happen at my house. My family and I left for a month and when we returned out attic had some rats in it. They would go through the walls and make some loud noises. Once my mom heard one in the wall near her and she knocked the wall and she heard the rat sort of knock back. Our problems were solved though when we got a Jack Russel terrier. Not trying to be a little prick here but seems like a possibility to me

Basically, me and a coulple others ventured into a cemetary. I really believe in ghosts but at the time, the 2 other kids did not. Eventually, they started talking about life and ghosts and that is when WIERD fucking shit happened. At first, we heard a group of kids around the ages of 5 or 6 in the woods. The cemetary is in the middle of deep woods surrounding it, thus, why the fuck would a ton of 5 or 6 year olds be randomly playing out at 1:30 am and at random chunks in the forest? My friend who didnt believe in ghosts basically tested something out. he yelled, "THIS IS THE FBI! We've got you fucking surrounded!" When he did this, the playful voices kept on going. He did it again and the voices stopped into whispers almost for 5 seconds and then went on again. At that point, while looking in the direction of the woods (all of us) we heard a fucking guy laughing right in back of us and we were in the dead center of the graveyard. We turned around and started to get freaked out and really bad vibes. We then heard an assortment of barking (could have been someones dog but it really sounded next to us). We jetted the fuck out of there. It affected my friend who didn't believe in ghosts so much that he actually cried after this, it was so fucked up for him.

We all looked, at the same time, to the end of the table and saw there was a large, black, guy with short dreds sitting at the end of the table. We looked back at each other and he was gone.

Wow, I like reading all these stories, so heres my contribution to the thread.

About 2 months ago, I had just come back home from sneaking out and doing graffiti, it was about 4 in the morning and As soon as I opened the door, I realized that not only was the bathroom light on, but the toilet was flushing. "Fuck!" I though It was one of my parents andd that I was busted for sure. So I ducked into the nearest room next to the front door, took off all my clothes, hid all my spray cans and markers etc. (all as quietly as possible) and then turned the computer on to make it look like I had just gotten out of bed and couldnt sleep. Now my parents are no idiots and I didnt think this would really work but it was my best hope. So I sat in the room, pretending to be on the computer and awaiting my mothers footsteps to come in and ask what was up. But to my surprise, she instead went to to the kitchen, and apparently started making something to eat, (there was alot of rustling and clanking and sounds of drawers opening) By now, I was confused out of my mind, I thought she was testing me or something, like waiting for me to come in and confess, but I just sat there and waited, I couldnt think of anything else to do. Anyway, I then heard her footsteps walk from room to room, returning to the kitchen every once in a while and moving stuff around. I wasnt scared at all because I was convinced it was my mom, I was just completely baffled. Anyway, After about 6 minutes of this, I finally heard her pull out a chair into the kitchen, and sit down in it, then, the noises stopped. I waited another good 5 minutes and then decided fuck it, shes trying to wait me out, I might as well go turn myself in. Well I go into the kitchen and Bam! Nobodys there, and all the cabinets are open. All of them. There is no way my mom couldve gotten from the kitchen back to her bed without me hearing because she would have had to walk up a flight of creaky stairs, and Im posotive that all sound ended in the kitchen. It freaks me out to think about it in retrospect, but at the time, the thought that it couldve been a ghost neveer crossed my mind.

this is as real as ull get to ghosts:

about a month ago i went 5 days without sleep, i did alot of stimulants to stay up and on the third day about 3 hard cones, so the drugs probably affected me too

it was about 3am, day 3when it started, and flashed back and forth for several minutes after the 4th day.

i was reading in my room, and heard my name being called "wilko", whispered just behind me, i turned around and the wall near my cupboard was splattered with blood, dripping to the floor, i couldnt move, closed muy eyes and it was gone. For the next 2 days i was hearing whispers of "wilko" and "she was so sad".

About 4 hours after the blood occured i went to get donuts at the 7 eleven, on the way i saw a girl in the park cryin, abit younger than me, as i got closer i saw blood pouring from her wrists, then she just kinda disapperad, that night at about 11 i heard cryin, i was just resting my eyes in the dark so turned the light on, it was her, at my desk, blood all over her, she turned at me, i freaked and she was gone.

The last day was the worst, i got off my ass, the blood was everywhere, i opened my cupborad and she was there, pale, with slit wrists, freaked out, closed the door and she was gone.

the blood was all over the house, then on me, the whispers were gettin louder, so i went to a friends house, then passed out in his driveway.

The halucinations stopped, but i was still hearing wispers for about a week after, sleep deprivation with drugs is about as close as ull get to seeing ghosts, paranoia and being insane.

Ok well I lived in this one house for the first 7 years of my life, and i remember a lot of 'odd' things happend in it.

For example~

~In our house It was a living room, with an kitchen attached to it, and a hallway with 3 bedrooms and then a basement that wasnt finnished. When I lived there my brother, his freinds and I would play hide-and-seek. I truely hated this game because I would never know where to hide and I was always too scared to hide downstairs. Well one day my brother's freind said that we should hide downstairs. I protested but he insisted. So I followed him down the stairs and the stairs were made so you could see underneath them, like there was no back on them. So we were going to hide down there but it was too crowded, so we went over to a pile of boxes. I then felt something grab my arm and I turned around and it was a man in a robe shaking his head. I screamed and ran up-stairs.

~One time I couldn't sleep so I got up and went to go watch TV. MY brothers and my dad was sitting there watching TV, so I sat down beside them and started to watch TV with them. It was some boring TV thing, I actually think it was a News thing... something Improtant like fall of Comunism I think. Well anyways I was bored so I was watching the clock. I didnt know how to tell time yet so I just looked at it and glance away. Then I looked at it a few seconds later and noticed that it was a totaly different time (say it was 9:30, then it jumped to 11:15.. ect). I did this a few times, then I told my dad, and he just got mad at me. Then after I looked at it again it started to spin really fast. I looked away for a seccond and it was still doing it. Then I told my dad, and it stopped. AND THE GAY THING IS I GOT GROUNDED! *fuckers*

~I was sitting on the couch and was watching TV (this happens lots doesnt it?) and I heard some weird noises from the kitchen. It was like a loud hissing and evil demonic talking. Then it laughed. I screamed and was crying and jumped on my moms lap. Then I looked into the kitchen and I saw a black figure pointing at me. My mom was freaked.

~One night I couldn't sleep, and I needed a glass of water. So I opend my eyes and I saw what I thought was my dad. He was wearing a robe, but it was different colour of what he wears. So I just sat there looking at him, and he was holding a glass of water, so I said 'Dad?' and It smiled and dissapeared. I remember how un-afraid I was, even after it vanished. I just kept on stairing at this one teddy-bear poster I had on my wall and there was a very little one on it. I always loved the little one, and It looked at me and waved.

~I used to have a chalk-board in my room and sometimes I would wake up to it being scribbled on or letters written on it.

Umm...

~ Shit used to move around my room...

Thats about it. It never really happend to anyone else in my house, and it was weird. I still get shit like that but its that I hear things now. And I dont like it. *Im not crazy* Oh and my wall used to move~

Cheers ~

Ok, some of these are not fully ghost related, but just as scary...to me anyways.

I used to live in Ortonville, Michigan...not a very modernized town. Quite hick-y actually. But anyways, a lot of scary shit happened to me there. We lived on a dirt road in a house on 3 acres and our driveway was really long and lined with pine trees. Me and brother were home alone a lot, and this little white car used to always pull all the way down our driveway up to our house. At first it would just sit there for a while and then turn around and drive back out, so I figured it was someone just turning around. Then one day, the same car pulled down our driveway and stopped and turned off. I was watching TV in our family room and every wall is covered with a giant window. I jumped up and told my brother and we ran into his room. Our garage was connected to the house so my brother would always go in the garage and grab his BB gun and make me sit in his closet and not move. I would always start crying and he would just crouch there under his window with his little gun. Anyways, after a few times, the man got out of his car and started walking around the perimeter of our house, cupping his hands and peering into our windows. There's probably an explanation but it still freaks me out to this day because it was always the same exact car.

This one still gives me the shivers and brings tears to my eyes when I tell my friends about it. One day my brother and I were home alone and the phone rang. My brother answered it and just kind of sat there, not saying anything, listening for about 2 minutes. I asked him who it was after he hung up and he didn't answer me, he just ran into the garage, got his BB gun, and started dialing my mom's work number. He told her to come home as quick as she could, and that some man had just called him and told him to unlock our doors and unplug our phones. He called my dad at work and told him the same thing. Then I started getting really scared and frusterated because I hate being left in the dark so I yelled at him to tell me what happened. The man said, "Hey buddy, how's it going? Can you do me a favor? Go unlock the sliding door, the side door, and the front door by the steps ok? Then unplug all three phones for me ok? Can you do that for me?" My brother said..."yeah sure" then hung up. At this point, I started to cry and hug my cat hysterically because these discriptions matched my house exactly. My mom got home first within 10 minutes because my dad works constuction and he was about 30 minutes away. My mom was washing her hands in the bathroom and my brother and I were standing there while he explained to her exactly what had happened over and over again when the phone rang a second time. We had my brother answer and the man said,"Hey pal! Did you do what I asked you to?" My brother said,"yeah, hold on a minute ok?" and he handed the phone to my mom who shouted HELLO, WHO IS THIS? The man hung up. We dialed *69 over and over again but he had pre-blocked it. We had to call the police and they came to our house and my brother had to fill out a police report. They promised us a squad car would drive down our street every now and then to check things out...real effective.

^Sorry that was very long but worth reading.

Anyways, we had bought that same house from this man named Mr. Jones. Hah, the infamous Mr. Jones...his name is still used today as an insult if you are being lazy or messy. Moving on, he was a real nut job. His wife "disappeared" one day and since then he basically stopped leaving his house for pretty much anything and neglected cleaning himself or the house. I'm suprised my parents actually bought it considering the condition it was in. There was shit piled everywhere. And he had some weird collection of elephants...they were all over the house. Little glass ones, statues, pictures. When my parents brought my brother and I to see it, he didn't get up and take us on a tour throughout the house, he just sat on his recliner facing the windows the whole time. When he moved out, he left about half the amount of his shit there. We called him numerous times asking him to come pick it up and he always got irritated so we finally just threw it out. Then one day he came to the house demanding his stuff and my dad got into a verbal fight with him and it was very scary. Just the thought of living in his house always creeped me out...and my friends and I, being kids, always suspected that he killed his wife. I always had bad dreams that I would be playing basketball and he would walk down the driveway towards me and start yelling at me. I suppose I'm an idiot because it just dawned on me now that he is a very likely suspect for the creepy phone call......

Sorry if those weren't very intruiging :-/

Id like to share the best ghost story i heard; Ive seen a couple myself too but ill save them for later.

My mother told me this story and she is not know to exaggerate etc.

Her friend is quite old, 60, and when he was a baby he lived in a 2 story house in the UK. Every day he was put to sleep on the top floor by his parents who slept downstairs. Everyday he would cry and they would have to check on him. They assumed he was just a "normal" baby until he got a little older and could talk, he told them as a 3 year old that everynight 2 old ladies visited him when his parents went downstairs. His parents began to think he had a psychiatric problem and rang the town doctor (it was a small town in the 1930s or 40s). The Doctor listened to the boy and examined him and then came to the parents and said something freaky, that the boy had seen something because the 2 old ladies he described had lived in the town when the doctor first moved to the town in that very house and were his first patients before dying 3o years before. The doctor said that he knows the boy had seen something because he names the ladies pet names for themselves not just their given names, so its not possible to find a record of these names in the town achives etc. The man can still remember the 2 old ladies playing with him everynight before he fell asleep as a baby.

It was the weirdest thing ive ever seen, of course i screamed but i couldnt move, he lifted up his arm slowly and started walking towards me, but i managed to run away and when i told my mom, of course she didnt believe me so when i tried showing her it disappered...how convienient

I stayed wake scared and wonderous for a couple minutes not really scared just confused and I went to sleep. Another time my sister when she was little said she saw me in the halway at night and said my name but I didnt answer and she reached out to touch me and her hand went right through! It wasnt me!

For like the first 11 years of my life my family owned a summer cottage in a small resort town about 2 hours away from where I live now.

We only stayed there in the summer, yet in the winter we would rent it out to people, fully furnished, so that it would remain in good condition.

In any case, I always remember having odd feelings in the house, usually in a hallway which connected the kitchen and the living room. Not really scared, moreso just emotional, like i'd be playing with trucks or whatever a 5 year old does and then I'd just start to cry. Or I'd be laying on my back on the floor of the hallway and suddenly id get scared and want to know where my parents were.

So one winter (my mom told me this later) we get a call from the tenants at the house. They were asking questions about some jewelery they found it th eback of a closet. Apparently there was a box of expensive looking jewelery and they wanted my mother to come pick it up. As it was February or something my mother just said that we would wait until the summer to get it, but the tenants were very insistant that we retrieve it now, because they didn't want it in the house. Well my mother did go and get the jewelery and when she returned she noticed that there was an address written on the inside of the box. All i remember her saying is that it was somewhere in London and that she wishes that she got ahold of whoever lived there. I'm not sure what my mother did with the jewelery, either she sent it to London to the address, or just gave it away (I actually think she gave it away to some family members if my memory is correct.) But anyway, when we got there that summer, the neighbors told us that the tenants had told them how they had awoken once to see an old woman standing next to their bed, and also they had the covers wripped off them in the middle of the night. Once they got rid of the jewelery this all stopped though. They didn't want to tell my mother and father because they felt that they would not believe them (both my parents are very educated people, yet they keep their minds open to different things.)

My dad told me this one:

Before I was even born, my grandmother was hospitalized because of heart problems. My dad would go to visit her everyday. He was really worried and couldn't sleep. Well after coming home from the hospital, my dad walks into the bathroom and sits on the toliet. Minutes later, his brother-in-law who died years ago appears. He tells my dad something along the lines of "Don't worry. Mom will be ok." Sure enough, my grandmother recovered.

My whole life i have never seen ghosts, but I have remained open-minded about spirits dwelling in homes and whatnot. Whether they are simply imprints of their former past, or are actual living entities with a consciousness, I have no idea. Maybe its both? What if they are an imprint with its own consciousness that continues to live, but is bound to our dimension simply because it still has matters to finish up.... I wonder just how far ghosts can resemble humans in terms of communication and consciousness.... hhm..

I only have one certain paranormal thing that has happened in my past 16 years of life ( and i think i made a thread about it a while ago ).

It wasnt connected with ghosts, at least i dont think so, but it was still very poltergeist-like. It was pretty late in the night, I had just gotten out a slice of bread, and was cutting some salami, when half a metre frome me a piece of air simply exploded. Theres no other way to put it, it was like someone had performed a "squeaky pop" hydrogen test, with the resulting sound being a few times louder. Theres no gas running through the house, we have an electric stove so it cannot be connected to any of that. The "explosion" was about twice as big as my head, so, not so large really. I knew it was not just me that heard this, as my father and brother were watching tv in the next room and they got the shit scared out of them with the loud sound and whatnot. I looked all around the kitchen for any kind of debris ( like a popped balloon or something ) but found nothing. The explosion occured half a metre away from me, in mid-air, in front and to the left of me a bit, just above knee-level. That is one thing that has happened in my life, for which i have no explanation. As for ghosts, well from the age of 2 to 9 i lived in a house that was supposedly previously owned by some sort of demonic priest who practiced demonology inside. Very weird place, not any more scarier than any other houses (this was russia, in the 1900, pretty much everything was scary). I remember we got ourselfes a puppy one day, and a few days later it ran away. Years later we got a grown guard dog, and it did not live for too long before succumbing to some stomach worm-thing-like disease. After that, we got a cat and a dog. The dog, once again got some bad-ass disease, and was on the brink of death. We brought it inside because we were too worried about it to keep it outside. I dont know how to explain it really, besides pointing at my cat, but it recovered and is still alive to this day. I remember that my cat and dog were both young at the time, and i could remember them playing with each other back then, after my dog healed up.

I dont remember any bad ghost-like occurences that happened in that house (besides some drunk guy coming up to my window, scared me shitless for months, my mom walked outside with a hunting gun just to scare him away), but my mother was a strong believe of house-dwellers which she defined basically as spirits that are tied to every single house. I would remember how she would sometimes even make some sort of offerings to them. She also told me about when she woke up once, and said that she saw one of these spirits staring her right in the face. When we got our cat, everything got a little better though. Oh yeah, there was a one-legged madman living in a burned down house next to us. And my first pet-turtle died in that house too, and was buried under some tree. My cat got some horrible disease there too, as did i. Confusing times, scary country.

I live in Europe now, and i have to say that this house is one of the most peaceful that I have ever lived in, with a very calm spirit aura.

yeah, sorry about making that so long and pointless, dont know how i got carried away.

peace-

Default Re: post your own ghost stories

MY friend told me this, I believe shes truthful she never talked about anything supernatual before or since;

She started living at her boyfriends parents place, which used to be an old farm but now was in the outter suburbs of out city. One morning, her boyfriend and his parents were out at work, a few days after moving in she was cleaning her teeth when in her peripheral vision she saw a figure in the nextroom near the doorway. She turned and saw it was an old man who appeared to be slighly transparent and his legs faded away into nothingness.

Naturally she freaked out, ran out of the house in her pajamas and called her boyfriend on her cell phone, even before she started talking he could tell by her breathing something was wrong and said, "Whats the matter? Did you see the Farmer?"

Apparantly he had lived there for many years before this family bought the property.
