Well, I hate GameStop. They rip you off and often get a 200 or more percent profit. Also, in order to "trade" a game, you have to give about 3 games just for a Used new game.
So, I think they should lose some of that money that they wrongfully get from us. Games are kept behind the counter. They occasionally have games on the counter when they are sorting them, so someone could grab and run. But I want something that takes more skill, and gets more reward.
So, the problem is, how do you get access to the games without breaking into the store, or doing a simple grab and run.
Okay, as far as scamming when you sell games thats easy, but profit isn't that great since as I said, they rip you off. I wold prefer to scam them for new games.

Find a cartridge game that they pay a LOT of money for, lets not say alot, lets say most out of all cartridge games and likewise find out what they pay the least for. Find you have somehthing close to the cheapest and most expensive open up thier casings and switch the casings so that the expensive game is in the cheap casing, and the cheap game is in the expensive casing. Sell them back the cheap game in the expensive casing and later that day sell them the expensive game in the cheap casing and claim it is the expensive game (ask them to check for themselves). After it is indeed the epxpensive game they will pay you a little less than the usual price. So you scammed them for about 15 dollars, not too shabby. If I come up with anything more damaging ill let you know. I have never been there and don't know how the stores operate.

Uhm. The new games are shrinkwrapped, the used game cases are out, but the actual games are behind the counter. Your idiotic idea won't work.

1. Grab and run
Consequence:
You could never return to the shop.
2. Work there and snatch a game
Consequence:
You’d probably get caught by cameras and staff
Arh, I can’t think at the moment. Give me time.

ok this is what you do if your gamestop has snes games out in the open grab some take off any barcode tags and bring them to the counter and try to resell them to gamestop. i came up with this idea when i wanted to buy some games and they thought i wanted to sell them, the were about to give me the store credit too, but my mom was with me and she wouldn't have let me pull it off.

This could work at any store that has carts out in the open and has stickers on them. Just switch the sticker from say Alladin to the cart of Chrono Trigger(that seems to be a popular game to use as an example)
But I've never tried this so it might not work. And if you have a vigilant employee they might check the cart and see that it shouldn't be selling for so cheap.

Are you talkin to me, fucknuts?
I said, they sometimes have games out on the front counter (for sorting). So, I could walk up, grab, and run like hell.

why not just get a HEAVY DUTY industrial mutherfuckin magnet
im sure that if you put that up to the carts it would fuck them up big time
just selotape it to the palm of your hand and pick up a game with it
also with said magnet just put it near their monitors/tv's in store and it will fuck them up... need new ones
just make sure its a nice heavy duty magnet

It's not exactly a "scam" but you could always go behind the place and check out their dumpster.
BTW, did you know that GameStop (aka Funcoland) is a Barns & Noble company? Now you do.

2 weeks ago I was in one and some ?10 yo? kid was selling his snes w/a grip of games and the gave him like $25, but I overheard the guy behind the counter say "sory the computer says I can only give you ten cents for each controller." thats when my buddy pointed at the snes bin and I saw a controller marked at $5, thats fifty times what the kid got. Thats one helluva raquet they got. On the drive home my buddy and I decided that we were gonna get some. We almost got enough for a yaers rent in a little strip mall. They all start small.

what do you mean you were gonna get some? How'd you get about a years rent? I'm confused. Are you saying that you hypothetically borrowed from GameStop or another store?

Re: Scamming GameStop
Do they test CD games you sell them?
Would be pretty easy to sell them blanks with CD stomped labels or nice shrink wrapped DVD cases.

Yes, I've seen them test games as customers bring them in. They have one of every game system that they buy games for, and test any used games before placing them on the shelf.

Re: Scamming GameStop
If you use the backside of an exacto knife you can unfold the shrinkwrap on the bottom without cutting it.
Slide the game about 75% out of the shrinkwrap.
open the case as much as you can only the top has the seal on it. You should be able to open it enough to pull the game out, replace it with a free AOL cd or a blank cd, grab the instruction manual and replace it with a few pages out of the phonebook.
close the case and slide it back into the shrinkwrap
use a clear glue stick to reseal it
after the glue is dry a little heat (a bic lighter is too much) will undo any stretching of the shrinkwrapped. a hairdryer works great for that professional look and feel.
take the game back and say you bought it for your brother and he already had it.
playstation games have a shrinkwrap like a pack of cigarettes, so practice on those.
if they open it and find out you are scamming them, you blow up on them for selling you this and then trying to make you look like a thief. demand the case to the game and your receipt back, and have your buddy try it at another one. I've been caught 3 times and I even got directions to other locations from the manager. I have about 350 ps1 and ps2 games.
not sure if this works at GameStop but i've yet to find a place I couldn't return at, and I've gone to 9 different stores. (wal-mart, k-mart, eb games, best buy, circut city, fred meyer, compusa, fry's, target)
