Master Keys
PURELY FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY, DO NOT ACCTUALLY TRY TO DO THIS UNLESS YOU OWN THE ORIGINAL LOCK AND KEY YOU ARE COPYING.
I know much about locksmithing/picking. However I do not own a key cutter. I wanted to be able to copy keys, but of course I would have to use much more crude methods, however I found them to be successful, If your interested read on:
Items needed:
1 Rat-Tail File
----Not Cylindrical preferably a triangular shape. $10 at Ace hardware or similar store.
1 or more Blank keys
---$1-$2 each at Wal-Mart
Electrical Tape
The you wish to copy.
The process is devastatingly simple, yet remarkably effective. First off let me stress, make sure you have the same model blank key as the kind of key your copying. If not, the wards will simply get in your way and your key is worthless.
Procedure:
Tape blank key to master key, making sure tape is around the handle - lining them up exactly. Simply file down into the blank key, until the grooves and knotches match perfectly. How accurate do you have to be? Accurate enough to not be able to tell just by looking at the 2 keys lined up that there is a difference. (NOTE: this works only on house keys, and some commercial keys. Car keys and others of higher quality are lazor cut these days.) If you fuck up and cut too deep then start again, the blanks are cheap. My first key took me about an hour to perfect, and might I add IS perfect. I have gotten this to work many times. Much easier than picking if you have the time to copy a key.
FEEDBACK OF ALL KIND WELCOME.

Re: Master Keys
edit that message and say its for educational purposes only, otherwise someone would find a good enough reason to bust you, enforcing "bad ideas"
i would think cops usually hang around here, to catch ppl trying to do illegal things (asshole cops, wrecking my fun) so just edit ur message and say its for educational purposes
on the feedback, thanks dude. i dont think i've seen a post like this, it could relaly help me when i sneak into a cops house and fuck his wife. =)

Re: Master Keys
Making master keys from various yoinked locks is a whole different world.
Invest in a key cutter (the coded type), extremely nifty gadget.

Re: Master Keys
Am I the only person that finds these a huge waste of time? Some person talking about making a mold of wax and filling it with solder, and now we've gotten the files out?
If you have a key, you can simply go to a hardware store and get it copied. I have had no problems whatsoever with this method, and it seems much easier than all this mess.

Re: Master Keys
It's good knowing a key cutter real well.
This guy has cut duplicate keys just by looking at the original key, locked in a car lying on the front seat.
But he's been in the game for nearly 20 years.

Certain smaller towns - such as mine - do not have locksmiths or stores with key cutters available, and again as previously stated most keys of importance have DO NOT COPY stamped on them. It works, although it takes time and precision. So relax and crack a brew why dont ya.

Not really true. While this board is likely to be somewhat observed, nobody will get in trouble for anything that isn't drastic. By drastic, I mean things similar to:
Stating that you have access to large amounts of expensive equipment and are planning on counterfeiting millions of dollars.
Stating that you are making X amount of bombs/weaponry and are going to massacre people at school X
Stating you have 5 kilos of X chemical weapon and you're going to poison the water supply of X city,
Etc. . .
They're not going to be sitting down in some secret FBI bunker and read a post that talks about shoplifting a CD, then give half a shit about it. It's not like they'll yell, "CODE RED, ALPHA NINER IN SECTOR 32-BD! GIVE ME THREE SQUADS IMMEDIATELY! GO GO GO!"
They don't waste their time with small-scale crap like that. Just a clarification for all your paranoids out there.

Seriously, that would be so funny if that happened. *nervously looks over shoulder*

Nearly all of them will make a copy of it. Most of them around here don't give a shit about what it says. I've gotten 3 copies of a 'do not copy' key made before.

Re: Master Keys
why not just go to some store and have them copy the key for you, it only costs not even 5 bucks, and professionally done too! BTW, would a grinder work to copy one, cuz i'm kinda broke right now, so i can't go to Alco and get it copied.
