...On the streets, what if you wanted to find away to counter them. Block them. Anything that wont let them get you down.

I was pondering about a rubber vest, but when they shoot you, it pierces whatever it comes in contact with. Getting away would be a challenge.

What are your views on this all?

I think the idea might have merit. It would be good if someone could get their hands on one of these and test it out.

If you tell me something more about these new "lasers" and maybe a picture, I could look into getting some information.

Im pretty good with electrical engineering stuff, give some info about its power capabilities and voltages i you would.

my view is, if he carries a taser, you carry a fucking shotgun and rubber vests, with 500 extra shells, 6 grenades, three pistols, and a jet pack. world war III is coming, so gear up and fight, fuckers. :P

I've been hit with a tazer plenty of times. It doesn't hurt that much, unless you're hit in your chest or stomach. To get knocked down by one, they have to be touching you for five seconds. Now, if you've never been touched by a taser before, five seconds is a lot, and chances are you'll get away within two seconds.

I agree with Ironz on how long it takes a tazer to take someone down. The first second or two of pain is still controllable(sp) and you can get away/move freely in those first few precious seconds. However, if they got those air firing tazers stuck to your chest through your clothing and you cant rip them off...then you got a problem.

As for wearing electric proof clothing. You might look into material other than pure rubber, or perhaps line the rubber with something. I wonder if spectra, kevlar, or neoprane would make good materials to be put together with the rubber making a far more effective vest.

why would you want use something like rubber?.. why not use some clothing thats conductive.. that way the current flows through the conductive clothing and not you.. if you use rubber whats gonna stop the electricity when it pierces through the rubber and onto your skin? or if the voltage is high enough to allow the electricity to break the insulation down?

The material would have to be more conductive than your body, that is...more conductive than water.

try the cutting board armor someone posted before. it could be sewn into clothing and could prob. stop the taser dart. Only cops carry them in my area. I was talkin to my uncle who is on the force about them and he said they only fire them at the back or the chest because both of the darts have to hit. They also have to be sorta close to each other.

I beleive on the fireing type of tazers(many consider stun guns tazers), what matters is how you can stop the penetrating projectile from getting in contact with the skin. Ballastic protection is necessary to stop tazers from hurting you.

those laser tasers are a bitch my cousin got one and just like the dick he is he got me with the damn thing all i could do was drop to the ground they hurt like hell

Unless they changed the meaning of the word "laser" to "dart," you're wrong. Please read a thread before you reply.

Er... I think people might be getting confused, with stun guns and tasers.

Tasers are projectile, (I think) and the stun guns are the ones where you have to be close to a subject and push the stun gun into them then pushing a button.

The ones I am talking about are the projectile sort of ones, they unleash a two wires, and pierce and stick into what ever they come into contact with.

All they have to do is aim it at you, (laser sight), shout “Taser, Taser!”, then they shoot you with it, once the wires are one you, they pull the trigger again and it makes you go to the ground straight away. I don’t know the voltage exactly, but I’ll look it up for you lot.

uh, no not really. in fact, he's in for a LONGER life if he poses as a threat to people who want to go up and stun him. look at it this way, would you rather stun someone who's walking down the street with just jeans and a t-shirt, or would you rather stun someone who's carrying a shotgun, wearing thick rubber armor, has a couple grenades attached to his vest, fancy sunglasses from the Terminator, and looks like he would rip you a new hole if you touched him with your silly taser gun?
