Ehh this topic has probably been posted before. I break headphones often by stepping on them, etc. Whenever i break them i just go back to the walmart where i got them and buy a new pair. Then i go back to my house and carefully open the new headphone box. I then put the broken headphones in the new box and seal the box with hot glue. After that i return them to the store and get a refund.

I'm going to try that at the Reject Shop this weekend. They sell headphones for $2.90 ($1.45 US) so I don't have a lot to lose.
