Default Free CD's

I dont know if this works anywhere else but id does in the uk,

CD's can cost a bomb right sometimes up to 25 quid!!!

Plan: Simply purchse the cd of choice - it will have a security sticker over the opening flap which is a bastard to get off so don't bother.

Simply (and carefully) prise open the hinges at the other end. Then remove the cd - copy it, put the cd back in and take it back to the store for a refund. Use some dumb excuse like "my girlfried got it today as well". Voila cash back and the tunes you wanted.

This never fails as long as you visit the big chains. i.e HMV, VIRGIN etc (Dont know about the rest of the world tho - let me know)

Feedback appreciated.

It's a good idea...not entirely new, but a good idea nonetheless. It's a different, and much simpler, angle than I usually see.

I thought cds were sealed and shrink wrapped? Well, good idea i guess, but why not just download them and save your self the trouble?

I've done that a few times, it sucks if the CD has copy protection though.

We used to do that here. But now all the stores refuse to refund it if it has been opened.

They're not nearly as dumb as you think they are. Most stores WILL NOT take a cd that has been opened for this very obvious, over-used reason.
