Napalm
Ok i was just wanting to make sure this mixture is real and wont set me on fire or anything. Is it true that styrofoam and gasoline make napalm?

Thats link is pretty helpful.
I'm assuming you got this from the anarchist cookbook? Thats where I remember seeing it. Do not do it. In fact, do not trust anything you read in the anarchist cookbook about chemicals if you have any value for your health and your life.
That method is very primitive and unsafe unless under well controled conditions. I hear the toxins in the fumes released are fatal. You definately should not try this in your own home.

Re: Napalm
it will work but it won't work as well as real napalm. you can't put real napalm out even if you jump in a pool but this stuff has no oxidiser so it can't go under water. It won't blow you up or set you on fire unless you use it as hairgel, you should be fine. also this should be in backyard ballistics

Except, not really. Although most of the ACB is crap, this actually works the way they say it does. And the health risks of the fumes are about as bad as those of using hair spray, maybe less.

It's not true napalm, as others have said, but it is a jellied fuel that will burn for quite a while. Once you've made it, you'll realize that it really isn't all that spectacular.

Re: Napalm
This just is like putting two flammable things together and lighting it on fire, is it not? As far as I know, styrofoam doesn't cause any chemical changes, so basically you have a controlled? gasoline fire. As such, the bi-products consist of carbon dioxide and water, the same as any hydrocarbon. So, the fumes are not unusually dangerous or anything.

Re: Napalm
Petrol, acetone and turpentine will all turn polystyrene foam into a sort of whiteish substance that resembles a cross between treacle, jelly and semen. Acetone is very volatile and is probably unwise to use as the solvent.
Ive tried all three on polystyrene foam, the foam decomposes in a satisfying way, haven't actually bothered to light it.
Add something sticky and it will presumably make a form of napalm.
I have heard that the smoke is carcinogenic, but so is everybloodything else interesting it seems, including burnt toasted marshmallows.
