Re: airport lost and found
It's always worth it to try. Pretend to be computer illiterate, and just say you know it was darkly coloured, and you would be able to recognize some of the files on it if you could take a look.

Re: airport lost and found
You'd probably have to descibe it before they give it to you. Probably like a brand, color, etc.
Just describe a basic laptop like umm, black, toshiba, say you forgot the model number or whatever. Be as vague as you can. Also, they usually keep them in bags and stuff and someone has to be pretty dumb to "lose" a laptop at the airport (unless they're sitting in some lounge and their flight gets called and they forget about it or go to the toilet and leave it there and they run off for the flight or something). It's worth a try. If the say no, then the excuse really is then you musn't have left it at the airport (or someone else already "claimed it", hehe). It may be somewhere else and the airport was somehere you coul've lost it, so the airport's quite safe. Be careful, though. With the way homeland security is if you get busted then just the mere fact of performing your scam in an airport could let them lock you up and throw away the key.

Re: airport lost and found
Well, just say you did lose a labtop. I don't see how you could get in trouble for that. If they think you're faking, get annoyed, and say, "You know what, it's not even worth this bullshit to get my labtop back. Keep it!"
