 Question on Pure Sodium idea?

ok for the above. I just cant get the damn salt to melt down! ive tried heating it over a flame, baking it in a convection oven and microwaving it. Can this even be done?

The setup needed to make pure sodium is very elaborate. you cant just "heat it and run electricty through it".

sodium is about 10x as hard to extract by electrolysis than hydrogen is by electrolysis which is super hard. just get some from your chem teacher
