motion sensors
how do they work how do you by pass them and if i put a piece of tape over the lens before theyre turned on will that work??

Are you talking about the PIR sensors with big ass lights ?
If you were to paint over them when they're switched off using white paint that will work.

Actually this would heavily depend on the type of sensor. The usual infared home use type can be disabled during the day by a sticker or something similar when it is off. For other types that are always on, and judging by your name of art theif, you arnt going to be able to do much about those.
