I was wondering does anyone know of a way to pop a tire through chemicals? I was thinking along the lines of the heat from the chemical reaction would pop the tire not the corrosive properties of the chemicals. Any ideas?

You're looking for a chemical reaction, involving heat, that would pop a tire?
I would like to direct you to Backyard Ballistics to ask your question and others about pyrotechnics and explosive devices.

You could try using some type of powerful acids.

Sulfuric acid will work, it's only something weak and organic like rubber. About a tablespoon should burn it enough to burst.

The point would be discreteness. Will sulfuric acid work not in it's purest form?

Chloroform.
i think that's how its spelt, fuck it, it don't matter.
all you need to do is figure out how to get it into the tire, i forget how it works but i know it will cause a tire blowout. the way i did it was through the valve stem, all you do is pull the vavle core out using a valve stem remover wait till all the air is out then using a squese bottle put some in the tire, but not to much, maybe like 10 mL.
i saw this on an episode of CSI and i tried it on a spare tire i had in my garage and it poped overnight, i don't know how long exactly it took but it works.

Or you could get a brain and stick a firelighter or hexitab under it...

Chloroform squirted throw the stem will cause a blowout. You can get chloroform at any large chemical supply house.

Re: Chemically popping tires.
Why bother?
Its an assload of work, when you could just shoot it with a nailgun. Corrosive would be easier to find that heat.
Or you could try to make the air in the tire expand. Something similar to baking soda and vinegar (lol, those chemicals probably wouldn't give the desired effect, but you get my point).
Again, its a lot of work.

Re: Chemically popping tires.
Pouring drain cleaner into a tire will definently be noticable. Chloroform on the other hand breaks down the bonds between the molecules of rubber weakening it enough for a blowout. An acid like drain cleaner will just eat obvious holes through it.
Thats my $.02

If he wants to pop it chemically, I assume he basically wants to melt it...

Why were they trying to pop a tire on CSI?
