Default did the door to door scam today

Well, my and a friend did the door to door scam today, got $2.50 out of about 20 houses lol.

It's obvious why we got shit all,

1. It was like 2pm on wednesday (everyone will be working)

2. We said "Hi, were collecting donations for the St Andrews College year 11 classics trip to Greece. Would you like to make a donation?" - if you say that aloud it sounds really technical, and they either didn't know what we were talking about or didn't want to give money cause its such a shitty cause lol.

So yea I got some questions:

1. What is the best time to do it? I was thinking either a weekend, or at about 7pm at night when everyones home.

2. We can't really think of a good story to go with. Our one we had was complete shit, and I don't want to do any sponsorship forms or anything I just want to ask for a donation for something. Also preferably not for some dying poor country kid or a charity...

3. What did you guys do if anyone asks for documentation about it? One bitch did that to us so we told her to go fuck herself, then she said she was going to call the cops. We didn't believe her but we saw her through the window talking on the phone, so we did the bolt.

One of the houses we went down a really long ass driveway and no one was home. We managed to reach through a window and scored a playstation game.

So it was a disaster for those reasons, all we need is a WAY better story and to do it at a better time.

dude have the sponsorship form, it makes it more "professional"..and also tell them that if they dont feel comfortable donating through you, that they can make a donation via the phone or the postal service, then give them either the correct info/fake info. If you do that, you may make the donater feel a little more comfortable with you and they may donate then.

buy an old Scout uniform and say your trying to start a troop or whatever the hell they call themselves.

Or get some little kid with no morals to collect for you. (I've smoked up with these two little skater kids in grade 5, lol)

LoL about the little kids, that's a cool idea. What did you get them to say?

I don't think I'll do the scout uniform idea lol, If I ever wore one of those I would beat the shit out of myself with a baseball bat......man I love those things, heh.

Apart from sponsorship forms and scout uniforms what else have you guys done? Well I guess their aint much else you could do, but maybe some will see this post....

You could have badges etc. from a school wither on the forms or on your jackets ( Ipresume you are wearing smart clothes/a uniform.)

Get laminated badges, printed receipts, forms.... people are easily impressed by paperwork. You give them a pretty little recipt so they can feel good about giving ;D

With computer access you can DTP everything with logos (people trust logos). I dont know about eleswhere, but in the UK people go for animal charities all the time, specially with an intelligent kid selling to them.

Hypocritically, I can't really approve of exploiting people's charity (it's better, and more lucrative, to exploit their greed) but just think of it as a 'Stupidity Tax'--- if people want to give me money it seems rude to say no

edit: $2.50 out of about 20 , it never pays well.. lot of legwork for little money, good training though.

i know most people are tired after a days work, and are sitting down doing whatever they do at about 7 and dont want to be bothered...make up some paperwork, and go for like a walk(bike)-a-thon type thing, and tell them they can make a pledge per mile, or a flat donation

we did this last week, there was a local car dealership called rusty eck ford, and they had these fee cupon books that were worth over 300 dollar in value, (free front end alignment, free tire rotation, oil change, ect.) and so we took like 30 of them and went into an ace hardware store and walked up to people and asked if they would like to buy it so that we could raise enugh money to go to the little league world series and we made 70 dollars

maybe you could try saying that you are from a place for burn victims, disabled children, beaten women, things like that. people have soft spots for that kind of thing.

Use your computer and make up some fake sponsorship forms its not that hard, and bring a reciept book and always offer reciepts alot of people want them for donations, I done this a few years ago with a friend and in an hour we could hit about 40 to 50 houses between the 2 of us about 6 or 7 at night and for every hour we would take in about 60 or 70 bucks and most people were home and being pollite and professional about it really helped. One other thing we found that a name tag with the company logo really went a long way.... not advisable to use your real name and dont go in your own neighbourhood and try to avoid returning to the same area too often, even to go a town or two down the highway would increase your chances of pulling it off, but its an easy way to make quick cash.

I just buy a book of tickets and go door to door with my friend and a fake prize page and charge 1 euro each and when I did it at Christmas I made over 90euro and my friend made 150 euro because he went into a load of pubs everyday and sold them saying it was for a raffle competition. If someone ever asks me who I work for I just say I work for the Christian brothers society of Ireland.

Invent a charity event(like a run or something) in some county(state) a long way away (so people can't check or won't be bothered to check up on you) and say because of a family connection you're going to take part in the event.

A good group to get money off is teachers, if you're still at school. If you do it at like morning registration, or at the start of every lesson, the teacher won't want to appear like a tightwad in front of the class, so will cough up cash (some teachers want you to hate them, and so won't pay, but most will).

If your parents would approve of the idea, get them to take a sponsorship form round their workplace - "My kid's doing this..." always seems to get people to donate cash.

A couple of kids did it from my school last year, they said they were collecting money for the Red Cross. All the old people donated tons of money. But, they got caught and were sent off to Juevenile Hall.

But what most people don't realize is that you can do this 100% without lying. It's all about tricky wording.

'Hi, I'm Joe from Saint John's.' Not Saint John's Church, Saint John's Scamming Service.

'We're doing a walk to help raise money to buy computers for less fortunate children.' You are walking from house to house ... and you ARE less fortunate, as you don't have a new computer.

There you go. 100% lie free. Being misleading isn't against the law.

Pretty much what I was going to suggest.

Also when you do a scam like this, I suggest you look the part.

Carry a clip board, dress up in a suit, be clean shaven, look OFFICIAL.

Better yet why be misleading??

Do what Tom Green did once on his show. He offered services that were so ridiculous and stupid people gave him money because of the entertainment value.

Offer to sell leperchauns while dressed up in a green velvet green tux or something just as absurd as long it makes people laugh.

or you can do what a lot of my friends do get the march of dimes forms and go around for that everyone knows about the march of dimes in the US (Its a 9 mile walk to raise money for early born babies and birth defects for those not from the US) You can easily raise 300 in a day and then instead of sending in the money pocket it if someone calls the cops you can say you are seriously doing it for that and then you cant get in trouble

I did this scam once be4 and it worked for me. I made up that i was collecting for the cancer researche fund for a friends cuzz that died. people tend to believe that if its a big company that your collecting for. and the american cancer society or what eva it is has a website and say that they will be adding the fund soon the the website.

wehn people ask you for an id thats where is getts tricky i copied and pasted the cancer society thing on a word document and typed up a fancy look document say that this was legit. i had to find out who was in charge of the funds tho but thats not to hard. some times though they mgiht ask for more just say youll come back with more id later and they dotn care. but think up your own story cuzz ppl will catch on.

also chose a neighbohood that has a lot of old ppl in it there home most of the day and a lot o time wont think about givin money cuz well there old. also only ask for $5 per family or else youll have to deal with washing checks and thats more difficult ppl wont write checks for $5. althoguth if u want to ask for more and need to knw how to wash checks email me or PM me.

about tellin the lady to fuck herself DONT DO THAT always be poliete no matter how hard it is. that makes ppl trust you more so that all i hav to say my email is j0ker_166@hotmail.com if you want more info. o by the way im like 15 so really any one can pull this off.

you should get like some pamphlets or something this makes you look more legit. you could get a tshirt and really fool the victims. i did this with march of dimes (the fund for tiny babies who live in constant pain for whuch god probably intended to die) and came hme with a new tv in like a week. you could get some small businesses to donate a couple hundred. havent tried that yet.

how about selling vastly overpriced candy? when i was little i used to sell $5 candy bars around my neighborhood for my little league team and most people bought one or two. maybe people would be more inclined to buy a candy bar than just make a flat out donation.

also, i don't really like this scam because it exploits the common person, like myself. any ideas on how to obtain corporate sponsorship for a fake charity, bike a thon, etc? it'd probably be tougher to pull off but the payout would be much higher.

if you couldn't milk big business for cash i'm sure you could get free products from them. if you told your local krispy kreme or some other donut store that you were having a walk a thon for orphans i bet they'd at least give you a couple boxes of donuts.

A 'clearing' account is useful (ie. faked; building sociieties are better than banks). I know nothing about US banking, so if that's the question ignore me.

I would ignore cheques, you don't want a paperchase. Cash is easier. Unless you are good (you may well be, no judgement from me) you will earn less than the minimum wage.... it's fun, just not productive.

Man bomb_bastard me and a few friends were up at Rusty Eck a few months ago and they had the same coupon books so we went door to door in our nieghborhood selling them. Everytime they asked "Do I have to drive WAY out to Rusty Eck to use these coupons?" We said, "No, they are good at any local Ford Motor Company Dealership." God we made a killing. $116.

Also use big words. People like it when you do that. Ex. "I am with the People for Euthanization of Registered Sex Offenders Group. Also use more words than necessary. Like up above when I said "Ford Motor Company Dealership." I could have easily said Ford Dealership and get my point across. I learned all these rules from George Carlin. The more shit you shove in somebody's mouth, the more they'll take it.
