If I check my email account from a computer, does the IP get logged anywhere?

As in, if I check a hotmail account from my home computer, could somebody know that I was at home instead of on one of the libraries' computers?

yes, everything you do or go to on the internet logs your IP. So yes, they will be able to know

how can you use more than one proxy at once? well not really simultaneously, but have one or more "on backup" so that if youre main proxy fails, another one will kick in?

bc in the internet options, you can only enter one proxy address. ive googled for programs that could do this, but multiproxy is the only one i could find, but the download link doesnt work. kazaa didnt have it either. any help would be appreciated.

i know this isnt really a "bad idea", but thats where the thread is.
