Default Shoplifting

I was looking through the archive, but the old set of messages (6-7 pages) was deleted, so I decided to start up another thread.

Tips, tricks, places to shoplift, etc?

A place to shoplift would be a store. Some tips: don't look obvious. Try to act cool calm and collected. Make sure no one is looking or there are no mirrors or survalince cameras. Also invest in making a magic bag. It will help.

Just plan out every possible situation. Make one of those magic bag thingies carefully. Don't run until you are caught. Act like you're not doing anything wrong; like you're just another regular shopper.

1. Realize that young folks tend to be watched more closely than older shoppers--this is grossly unfair, but that's the way it is.

2. Dress well,or at least as expensively as you can. In other words, look like someone who does not have to steal.

3. Keep your score under $100-that can make the difference between being charged with a felony or a misdemeanor if you get busted.

4. Store security has no legal right to detain you. And if they touch you at all, in any way, they have committed assault.

5. Eschew magic bags, just ditch the dingers.

steal from somewhere your friends work. they can help you get out without being caught or if they are on duty at that time they can turn the other way during your "shopping." Or if you want to hit up another shop you can use them to test your magic bag. FRIENDS help a lot when doing anything bad.

If one of your trusted friends works as a cashier at a retail store, there is an easy way to steal.

:You can either buy a few cheap items and mix in a good item or 2 then checkout at the register where your friend is working. The cashier then pretends that he scanned the item but really doesn't.

:If there are cameras all over the place, just have a 3rd friend switch the barcode label on the merchandise you want to steal. The best thing to switch it with is a very similar item but a cheaper, inferior version. Come in the store later and buy it. Check out at the resister where your friend is working. You could even pull this off with a cashier you don't know. If you have trouble finding sticker barcodes, you can make them with a scanner, printer, and blank barcode labels. This could become a huge money making scam.

magic bags are stupid. just take the magnetic strips off in the store. and about security cameras, if your in a store with those bubbles on the ceiling, remember that most of those dont even have a camera inside. their just a deterant. plus, you can always stand directly below one and stuff whatever into your pants. they cant look straight down. and rob ppl at lunchtime when the security guys are eating or on break. i steal at least on average 50 bucks of merchandise a day. if u get real good, you can make a busness outta it. take your time and stay cool.

You do realize that some store hide the magnetic strips in places where you probably won't see it or can't get to. The magic bags are the very least a safety precaution.

I got to thinking, when I am in Barnes and Noble and am looking through a book, I sometimes come across those squares that have a border that I am guessing is magnetic and a centimeter down there is another one and so on to the middle of the square. Theoretically speaking, could i walk out of the store with the book if i take that out? Anyways..

If you're talking about what I think you are, then yes. Just to clarify, the strips are usually these light colored stickers that are probably made of plastic. They're usually in rectangle shapes. Basically, just peel off anything that's a sticker and you're set.

Good god, I was freakin nervous. The first time I stole was from Electronics Boutique or whatever. I had spotted two games I wanted, so after a long moral debate with myself, I decided to steal them. I held both games in my left hand below my waist. Now, I was fairly sure that there were no sensors at the door, but when you're really nervous, you begin to panic and over-analyze stuff. You begin to think, what if there ARE sensors? What's going to happen to me? But after a long time (I think maybe 30 minutes) I simply walked out of the store when the guys weren't looking. I then directed myself to the nearted mall restroom and discarded of the boxes and hid the games in my pants. Afterwards, it just became more natural to me. I then began making a good 50 bucks a week by reselling the merchandise more than half off to all my friends a week. Then later, up to a couple hundred. I have since stopped stealing on a regular basis simply I'm trying to cleanse myself of sins. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I don't exactly want to have all these memories of childhood theft when I'm older. Why? I honestly don't know.

Well the one I go to doesn't. It really depends on where you go. I think one of the easiest ways to know is to have someone that looks like they're in middle school come into a mall or something holding a pencil and a clipboard, and then having them walk from store to store asking about store security and how it's for a "school project" about the changes in security after 9-11 or some shit like that. I find that many of the stores at the mall I frequent have sensors and cameras that are just decoys to scare people. You never really know until you ask...

Well just got for it. Your first time go to a little shop and steal some chocolate and do that a few times just to get your confidence up. Soon you will know what to look for and will get good at finding ways of concealing or lifting goods.

I have to say what works best with me is NOT going out with a plan. I seize an opportunity if there is one because if you go with a plan and for some reason it aint gonna work then chances are you will do something stupid just to make up for it cos you really want to steal and stupid=caught.

I think that being an oppurtunist is the best way to go. I'm an opportunistic shoplifter; if it's easy to lift, I'll probably go for it.

For example, I was at the store today, and noticed that the sleeves on my hoodie are kinda tight around the wrists. What did I do? I stole some food, hiding in next to my arm in my sleeve.

Default Re: Shoplifting

Well, I went up to Media Play today...incase you have any in your area. Anyways, I have a friend who works there, and we got to talking, so I casually asked her about some of the security going on there. First of all, the books usually don't set off the alarms, and even if they do, it's hard for them to prove (esp with a backpack) that you didn't walk in with them. Also, they put security tags (magnetic) inside boxes, and sometimes, leave boxes empty, randomly, on purposes, just to bust attempting shoplifters. Use a fucking magic bag if you can't get the shit open. I think that's all I've learned, but that's covering a little bit of Media Play's security for you. Oh yeah, Dollar General...they have non-uniformed assholes who will follow you around the entire time, so be careful if you intend to shoplift there - and, if I'm not mistaken, they have no sensors. I also checked out Gamestop. No censors, but there is a security camera or two, usually just pointing at the cash register. Also, the store is usually worked by one or two people max. Just find a blind spot, and pocket what you want. Don't bother taking the CD cases, the fuckers are empty. Just take the cartridge games, and walk out of there. Watch out for store employees watching you; they're careful-eyed, but usually are too busy and young to watch you the whole time you're there. I think that's all I've learned today. Have fun kiddies.

Ya, me an a friend went to a new Canadian tire yesterday, lookin to score us some tools.

Good God, we went in to scope the place out since we have never been ther before, and we left very disapointed.

The old CT was small, had bad lighting, not enough staff, an no cameras..

The new store has wide halls, lots of wandering staff, is very bright.. and..

in EVERY ISLE, ther is a big camera in one of those reflective bubbles, lowered on a pole so it rests just above the isle..

on every single isle/hallway, there is AT LEAST one camera

that is very depressing. id bet there is at least 120 cameras in that store.. it sickens me

Default Re: Shoplifting

Well, it is now my goal to write an all inclusive shoplifting guide for totse, I'm talking a MONSTER ass file covering EVERYTHING.

Well, I started typing, I expect the following to be about 1/10 of the total product:

Well, having been a TOTSE member for quite a while now, I figured that it's time I post a guide on one of my favorite criminal topics: SHOPLIFTING. Anything and everything in this information guide is provided for information; whatever the hell you do with this information is of your own responsibility. If you get caught, it's your own fucking fault. Maybe, if you following this guide, you won't get caught.

First and foremost, dress up nicely before you go out. I'm not telling you to go out and buy a full business suit or a tuxedo - just dress like somebody who would not have to steal. The second most important thing is a razor blade, scalpel, or Exacto knife. Any one of these things is a shoplifter's best friend. Use them to remove the covers of books if you can't get off the magnetic theft tag. Use it to cut off magnetic theft tags, or, any tag for that matter.

Another important thing to do is to build a secret pocket of some kind. I have one that's five by five inches, sewn into the lower leg part of a pair of jeans I have, on the inside. If you do the same, you'll find it's very handy for holding CD cases or CDs themselves, among other things.

Which brings me to more BS about clothing. Don't wear coats, heavy jackets, or long-sleeved stuff (obviously) in the winter. It makes you look very suspicious. Baggy pants are okay, but I've noticed that the gothic kids and kids that wear all black get followed around a LOT more often than the jet-set does. So, follow point one, and wear something nice. A pair of baggy khakis and a nice T-Shirt will do.

Moving on...Watch out for undercover security patrols. In Wal-Mart, you can find these people rather easily, simply by looking for people that are nearly always around you in the store, and carry a cell phone. I don't have anyything against people with cell phones, I just find it funnyy that they are always the ones who are following me around.

However, if you plan on stealing clothes, these guys are easy to take care of. Just get a heavy pile of clothes off of the racks, and take them into the dressing room. Use your razor/scalpel/exacto knife to cut off any tags (make sure you get all of them!) and wear the stolen clothes under the ones you took in. Stick the tagsin the pockets of a pair of pants, and, with your new clothes, walk out. If you carefully removed every tag, you'll have made a smooth getaway.

Sometimes, though, we might want to seem like a "good" shoplifter by buying something from the store anyways. Plus, if you buy something like a CD or DVD, which usually has tags hidden inside, you'll have a good excuse if the alarm does go off.

Caveat emptor! As we cruise along, I'd like to point out a few good places to shoplift, and a few bad ones.

Good Places to Shoplift:

1.) Dollar General - Usually medium to large sized stores, these stores are understaffed with few employees, and fewer cameras, usually aimed at registers and employee exits. No alarms whatsoever, and most of the things sold in the store are small, pocketable items.

2.) Media Play - Usually medium to large sized stores, with less than a dozen employees, half who work the registers, one or two who stock the shelves, and two specialty people for both the CD section and book section. While there are cameras, alot of them are fake; also, they are not monitored in real time. The barcodes do not set off the alarms at the doors, on books or magazines. Also, many, many computer games can be taken out of their cardboard boxes with a simple razor. Easy pickings.

3.) Gamestop -

Any extra tips and stuff will be mentioned in the article.

Confuzious, where the hell are you? You'd probably be one of the best contributors to such an article.

I converted an old parka into the ultimate magic bag, by removing the insulation, adding alluminum foil with wax paper beetween layers to reduce noise. It is actually sew in, and with 7 layers on each side, has low storage capacity, but really wasn't designed for anything much bigger than a computer game, to further reduce the costs of selling burnt cds. It could hold about $200 in music cds, but I havent done more than 3 at a time.

No, barcodes do not set out of alarms. I can load up my backpack full of stuff with barcodes such as books, candy, magazines, soda and other items without tags and walk right out.

Be careful.

While barcodes themselves wont set off alarms, other devices implanted between the pages of a book or magazine will.

Second, dollar general, please, if you are stealing from doller general you are cheap. Buy what you want, its the cheapest place around.

Oh, by the way, the other day, I was in boscovs picking out a suit. Anyways, I noticed that there are no cameras and no tags on the suits under 600 so come in with an 80 doller suit and take a 500 doller one. Thats a 400 doller profit, but you might only make 200.

RULE #1: APPEARANCE.

If you walk into a store looking POOR or like a CRIMINAL, the employees will automatically keep an extra eye on you. DRESS CLEAN, CUT, & CRISP.

RULE #2: ATTITUDE.

It's all about acting like you own it. That what you doing is no big deal. DO NOT look around and shove something in your pocket or go to a back corner...STUPID! ALSO, IF THE STORE USES SECURITY TAGS, ALMOST ALWAYS THE CAMERAS ARE FAKE EXCEPT NEAR THE CASH REGISTER BUT IN THAT CASE A VIDEO TAPE ID BEING RECORED NOT BEING WATCHED. Also, low end stored such as; Big Lots, Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx watch more carefully and are more difficult because they expect it. EX: A local store in my area(keeping its name anonymous) is fairly large & has a constant flow of people. I've stolen longboard skateboards, carve boards, suitcases, bookbags, etc. It's all about attitude. First, I go behind and empty register and get an expty store bag & act as if I need it for a jacket im holding just anything you wouldn't want to carry. Then I walk around, find something I want (like a skateboard at this particular store) I pick it up, look at it for awhile, act as if I'm contemplating on wether to buy it or not, then walk around the store with it under my arm, then I sit down for awhile in sight of my planned exit (wait anywhere from 5 to 15 mins) At this time I descretely watch the exit, employees, & then the customers. When the register gets buisy, you just walk out w/it right under your arm! Don't worry if other customers see you, if you have a confident, happy, relaxed attitude, they'll believe you won it too! BUT always have a back-up responce incase questioned; such as "Excuse me, but my brother just paid for this" that way you don't need to show a receipt.

*The more practice, the more natural & easy it will come to you. I didn't mention skills as in how slick you are beacuse thats a given. Everyones got their own style as long as its not obvious! Remember it's all about how you present yourself & the "you own it, it's mine" attitude! Hope this was helpful! Good Luck!

To add-on to what Hardcore Surfers stated, an added touch of authenticity is added if you have an old receipt in your hand as well; while of course not foulproof this further assures the ignorant clerk/customer that the product has been purchased.

Oh & i forgot...

If you want CD's, just go to Kmart. All their camera's are fake except the ones by the registers & the one by the bathrooms. If they don't have the cd you want, just go to any electronic store that does, steal something, anything, as long as it's small, pricey & doesnt have a cencor. Then return it later, since you don't have a receipt they'll give you a store credit. Then you can get the cd or whatever you can't steal w/that credit!

Heres a good way to shoplift...

what you need:

a long pair of pants

a half set of balls

Ok walk in and go to the PC games section(not the playstation games that are behind glass) but the PC games on the shelf.pick out the one you want and read the back for a while. With a satisfied look walk to the Fabricks part where they sell rugs, and crap.I guarantee there will be 3 or more isles with no camaras, set he game on the shelf behind a rug or something and start to peel off the sticker on the top of the PC game. (important) if anyone comes by put the game behind something thats already there and act like u are messing with the rug. after they leave peel off the sticker, take the gamecase out and lift up the cd's and chek if theres a barcode in the game. if there is thanjust take the CD's and not the case(the CD's will fit in most pockets) if there is NOT a barcode than place the disk with its cover on it in your pants(you know where the very top end of your pants is?) I found this to be the best part where the game isint sticking out.walk out and enjoy your game or resell it. Usually look for the newer games that ppl drool for so you can get $$$$$$

IF YOU GET CAUGHT

In my earlier days I was caught 2 times and both those times i got away because of...Tears.. i balled in the managers office and told him my friends were peer pressuring me into stealing in order to be one of there friends.(damn that worked good) and they let me off free, but told me never ot come in the store again. but i did lol.

good luck

How about sending in couple of friends first, to look dodgy, and distract security? Then you can go in, looking dressed up, and use them as decoys.

No, actually they can't touch you. They can't do shit, they are only rent-a-cops. Nothing more.

Ohh yeah, and its not stealing until you leave the store. So don't sweat it when you are in the store.

Wrong! As soon as you conceal an item, it is considered shoplifting (at least in america), and you can be stopped and arrested before you even have a chance to step out the store. On a lighter note, shoplifting isn't all that hard as long as you think it through. Cameras aren't the threat you people make them out to be, since either way they are being monitored with human eyes. Humans, unlike the electronic recording devices they trust their stores with, can not monitor all areas of the store at one time, and if you don't stand out, you can successfully conceal an item right in front of a camera. Here are some of my personal tips for shoplifting...

- Make long trips around the store. Do not go directly for a single item, stash it, and walk out of the store. Walk around for a little bit. Shop around. Just look like a normal customer.

- Do not steal from a single store more than once in a given time. If you go to a store, and say, steal a CD, wait it out for a week or two before walking in to steal again. Many security guards look for these patterns, since many habitual theives can not resist hitting their favorite target again and again.

- Undercover security guards are a threat, and most large chain stores nowadays have them (I should know, that's how I got caught in Wal-mart, but that gave me the chance to learn from my mistakes ). If you see any individual who seems to be giving any attention at all to you stash the item in one of the shelves and walk out.

- If you are caught, do not run unless you have an escape plan ready. Many large chain stores have security guards on hand with vehicles, ready to chase down anyone who tries to make a run for it. If you don't have an escape vehicle waiting outside, or a very good thought-out escape route, then simply comply with the guards, and accept the consequences.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one important rule...if at all possible, try to buy something before leaving the store. Just cash in the couple of cents and buy a pack of gum. This single task will greatly reduce your appearance as a potential shoplifter.

I was scared shitless the first (and hopefully last) time I shoplifted. I stole acouple lighters from Biglots. I just picked a pack of lighters up, walked to a sheilded aisle with no camera or ppl. I then opened box up, took lighters, and left. If i were u I wouldnt start. I was scared until i got on the highway.

Here's a good way to steal computer games...

go with 2 or 3 friends...

pick out the game you want...

now have one of your friends start playng one or those try me out type game sytems...

you and your friends croud around him and make it look like you are watching and interested...

now you have a nice little human shield around you, so start takin off the dinger...

if its a computer game or cd then u can just take off the plastic rapper- its easier...

pocket it, walk out the door...

enjoy your new game...

ive done this a few times it works nicely

Could anyone post a picture of their magic bags? Just curious as to what a "professional" one would look like.

And what are some great stores to steal computer games from? What to watch out for there and what are some special tips?

Example:

Costmart - Computer games aisle is wide open (store is warehouse-style), just grab a pc game, walk to an aisle with very little traffic, lean/go between some items and take the disc out of the box. Store has no alarms and no cameras! Then just return the empty box after you're done and walk out after.

- Tips: stock boys sometimes roam the aisles, so be quick

- Sometimes helps when you're doing a normal shopping routine to put it in the bottom of your cart, go to perhaps the pop aisle in the back, quickly remove disc, continue shopping, then before purchasing everything return it to the computer games section

( Costmart is a changed name of an actual store - figure it out)

OMG castmart is obviously costco!!! but what about smash and grabs like just taking a few boxes, putting them in a plastic bag, and walking out, regardless of the sensors...your one step away from the door and have taken les than 5 min. you could hit 10 stores in an hour, just go to the bathroom and take out of boxes, put into back pack...

yes your first time is nerve racking, at least it was for me, some1 said this earlier but i dont remember who but i was debating it over myself for awhile.but i got the hang of it and im not so nervous anymore.shopko used to be one of my favorite stores to steal from but not since i got caught there.shopkos bubbles do have cameras in them and in the back where the security ppl are in the "loss prevention" room they have like 6 t.v's with like 3 or 4 ppl watching them. i would kno cuz i got caught taking some games, but whats funny i think is that they only saw me take 1. but they are dumbasses cuz they told me they were really good at finding ppl who shoplift from there. but ive stolen a really good walkie talkie, couple more games, a magazine or 2, and a playstation 2 gameshark. media play is also a good place to steal from. well at least here in wisconsin. cuz back in the electronics department they have 1 camera and its like 25 ft away and they have this table rack full of games and all i had to do was pretend i was looking at them and open it right there! then take the game cd/cartridge. that night i took a couple gameboy games, gameboy color system, link cable and some gum. then a week later sold em. ive now givin up on stealing from department stores but ive taken up burgin and goin into ppl's cars at night, 3 nights ago i went into this dudes car and i hit fucking jackpot. im serious, i found a cellphone and then i saw in the backseat he had a brown briefcase much like the teachers use at my school so i thought it was just papers but i took a look and i couldnt believe it. a dell inspiron 8000 laptop. then also in there was a cdrw drive for it a bunch of cables, dvd drive, networking thing and some other stuff. i have a thread about it in the hacking thread cuz the fucker has xp on it even though it came preloaded with ME but he has the default to xp and i cant get in cuz im having trouble cracking it, anyways good luck and i dont kno much about magic bags cuz i havent used them

i usually get a shit load of stuff from semi-chem but they just put in cameras and i cant tell if they are fake or not. they're the bubble ones, about 10 cm wide and i cant see any moniters at the till or in the stockroom (they have the door open a lot). the bubbles are really small compared to anywhere else ive seen them and the store is so small that they would only need one, not 3. any guesses on the authenticity?

shoplifting is cheap, easy and profitable. Nerves are often a key, i do alot of drama so i can usally look intrested in other c rap, as well as reading body langauge to see whos detectives and whos suspicious of you. oftne you can carry out merchendise, if theres no fag at the door.

And these gaurds are watching about 20 different screens at the same time, if its kinda busy they have better things to worry about, and if you can get a radio freq. tag $$$ let it set off the things on the way in, now you have permission to have them go off on the way out, also i find grace bros has VERY expensive collonges and prefumes just sitting there.... pity not to just put it in your pocket, there worth alot and if you cant sell it at least you smell nice

If they do could you just rub it against the packaging, in case there is a tag concealed inside the packaging, or would you have to rub the magnet directly onto the tag?

if you can get a partner of the oppisite sex thats the best thin to do! then you decide on a store! then find out if the workers are male of female! if the are male make shure the girl is wearing a short dress that showes her panties (this works best if shes wearing a thong!) and then get her to bend over and "look" at something on the bottem shelf where the workers ass! while the guy steals the stuff! if the workers are female get the guy to go in in boxers (just boxers) and get him to walk up and talk to the workers about random subjects! ehile the girl steals the stuff!

If your alone just act natural and stay out of the range of the servalince cameras!

Here's what I did. Note: this is hard to explain so bre with me.

Get some baggy pants and cut a hole in the back of the pocket. (When you reach your hand into your pocket, the part your pinky touches or is close to is the back).

Now, cut up some old t-shirts or some shit and sew a big pocket down by your foot.

Then, make a tunnel from the hole in your pocket to this new pocket you've made. Make sure there ar no openings.

Whenever you push something through your real pocket, it will fall into your hidden one. Since they don't know about that pocket, they won't look there and you'll just have to hope they don't notice the hole in your real pocket. (That's why it's in the back, it reduces the chances of them finding it.

It also helps to have a way to open the secret pocket. Otherwise, you'll have to reach all the way down into it. This can be a bitch.

OMFG, ur such a fucking idiot! Hard drives have powerful magnets to run their motors and they don't demagnetize the platters. How the hell could they fry the boards w/out going mach+?! Magnets aren't like magic portable EMPs with no moving parts! If you don't know what the hell ur talking about, don't say anything at all!

If they stop you tell them you forgot you left the stuff in there. Keep in mind this only works with little things.. nobody's going to believe you accidentally left 15 items in your pockets.... have fun
