Soda Can Stash
ok... for anyone who wants to make a soda stash can here it is. I thought of this idea when i saw an ad for one. Take a full can and carefully cut off the silver top. Iused a thin hack-saw but a razor blade would be better. Next, after i dried the can out... I epoxied the lid of a plastic spice jar to the underside of the can lid that we just cut off. Next, i filled the bottom of the can with wax. With the wax still wet, i screwed the spice bottle together and set it in the wax. At this point it appears as a normal soda can. (put a book ontop so the jar doest float causing the lid to rise. When the wax dried i unscrewd the lid and filled the can with water around the spice jar; ontop of that i poured more hot wax. Drill a small hole in this wax and drain out some water so it sloshes around. Silicone sealent hels keep this from leaking. There you have it good luck.

Re: Soda Can Stash
Certainly an interesting idea, although it does seem a little labor-intensive for such a small thing...
What is the point of the water?

Re: Soda Can Stash
not quite a mason jar but a smaller plastic jar. And yes, it can hold a lighter, weed, small bottle of eyedrops and papers or a small piece.

Re: Soda Can Stash
Im a bit confused as the opening, you cut the top section off (where the cap / drinking hole is)...and then what?

Re: Soda Can Stash
Why go to all these lengths to hide small amounts??? If you need to hide something from your parents who shouldn't be searching your room anyway, there are many other hiding places if you use your imagination.

Re: Soda Can Stash
If you need to hide your stash, then it usually means that your parents are in your room at some point on a somewhat frequent basis.
Now, if my parents saw this opened pop can sitting in my room day and night, it is getting thrown away.
So then you can hide the pop can...but then that defeats the whole purpose, seeing as your parents may get suspicious as to why you hid an opened pop can that appears to have been modified in some way.

Re: Soda Can Stash
Sounds like the same thing (concealing your stash) could be done just as well in other ways that require a ton less work than that.

Re: Soda Can Stash
Credit where credits due.
Tim took the time to do, it worked. Credit.
A tonna people have been saved by something as simple as a good hide.
Yah know where it is, good.
nunna this "where the fuk isit?" 'cos yah hidin' it ina place no one would think of finding it there, inluding yah short term memory
Nice touch with the wax and the water
Latex & plaster of paris have the right 'give' (softish) but no 'splosh'
use a craft knife (be fukkin careful!) and cut horizontaly around the top lip where the top surface meets the sides of the can
Cut thru one layer of metal only, try & only make one score around it till the cuts thru the metal all around the lip.
Some can openers can make the right cut, depends on the design of it.
The one with the squeeze handles and the turn around with the right hand bit may work, the driving wheels gear may imprint on the inside of the cans top, leavin a giveaway thou, some don'thavetheteethonthemorgrindemoffmaywork
arrrrrrhhh allsthere allsclearrr

He knows someone's already "beaten him to it", but what's the point in buying something if you can make it yourself?
I do have to agree with InsertSloganHere though, seems a bit pointless, and will draw more attention to it if anything.

Re: Soda Can Stash
If you have a little mini fridge in your room, always keep it stocked with soda and put your little can stash in the back. No one's gonna go for the soda in the back...
Ah. Aha. Hiding a tree in the forest. Brilliant!

Re: Soda Can Stash
I have a lot of lanterns and flashlights, I could hide over a pound in some of these (I estemated a pound I have never had more than an ounce) I don't need to hide things but I put my main stash in one just so if my little sister is messing with ny shit, she won't find it.

^^^those are just a few of my favorites.
If you want a good stash can then you can use a container the size of a d battery and make it so it has a contact on each end which will match up with the real battery, it needs to conduct electricity through it so when you put it in a flashlight with a real battery it will light up. I would suggest using a lower voltage bulb and always keeping fresh batterys in it so knowone wants to try and fix it if they use it.
A good fast way to do this it to take a film canister and wrap tape arround it untill it is the correct diameter then drill a hole in the centers of the top and bottom, use a screw that is long enough to go through the lid and come out the bottom with a rounded end nut screwed on. don't make it too long or too short, make it as close to a d battery as possible

Re: Soda Can Stash
I have one just like what asterisk posted, except in a different brand. I keep it in my car cup holder.
And yes, it has fooled cops.
