This is the webpage for the product BrainQuicken (aka, Cognamine).
Basically I'm here to round up a couple of (mature) skeptics who won't mind doing a little bit of digging with me.
This page indicates (on the testimonial page) that there are 4,050 some clincial studies that confirm this product works. Not only that, but it's studied by ALL IVY league colleges, taken by students at nearly all of them, etc etc.
-----Why have I never heard of this before if it is supposed to be such a wonder drug? (Their site says they advertised in MTV and Maxim Magazine...but I never noticed it. Wonder why...)
It's noted that you can get a "110% guarantee" stating if you can use it for 60 days and if your not satisfied you can keep your bottles and get a full refund.
-----Is there perhaps a lenghtly ordeal that a person wouldn't want to go through to get their money back? I'm curious as to how they might handle the situation of a refund. Maybe they would ask "Confirm for me that the product didn't work for you." Maybe they would want you to somehow test yourself, but never have indicated it so by the time you can go and test it'd be too late.
I'm sure there are a ton of positive and negative things about this page and it'd be very helpful if anyone who views this post can at least add some critique to this topic. Let's find out if this thing is bullshit or not!

Call and ask them, or send them an e-mail. If you're a potential customer they'll answer your questions.
Sounds like a lot of placebo, maybe some shitty-3rd-rate-OTC-stimulant and an excess of vitamins.
EDIT: You'd have better luck talking about this in Reinvent Yourself, BLTC's answer is to crush it up and snort it and see what happens.

Seems a lot to me like they are working on creating hype. I work for an alternative media marketing company so I know a lot about that. The supplement contains mostly vitamins however it claims on its webpage to be a nootropic. Consider me in this group will you? I am very interested. I have a lot to say, but I am eating some dinner right now, so I will get back to you. Honestly though, I am in it.

So basically, just a bunch of amino acids and some methylxanthines with a few vitamins for good measure.

Scroll down towards the bottom under the subheader "Ingredient Component Profiles and Research". They cite their sources in javascript...The list is pretty damn long but just skimming over it they appear to be from alot of scientific journals and various studies.
On the FAQ question page they say "BrainQUICKEN is designed to facilitate cell communication while simultaneously increasing oxygen delivery and uptake." And for further reading to investigate their vast citations of journals and studies.
On a side note, I sure love when companies say:
NATURAL: Is BrainQUICKEN all natural?
Yes.
BrainQUICKENâ„¢ (Cognamine) is scientifically engineered from bioactive botanicals and phytochemicals.
Haha...alot of things are natural, the question is, should they be ingested??? Sorry, not to get off track. Well, I'm sure a few of us can pick out some of the "Cognamine blend" which was all those aminos someone listed. Let's see, there is L-Glutamine (well known in the world of weights), Folic acid is a B vitamin in Bannanas (right?), Niacinamide (aka Niacin) is vitamin B3...ya a bunch of vitamins and some aminos. So...it's a super vitamin with some aminos in it.
Let's just analyze a few things real quick.
Vitamins are very useful when working out. Those who work out will agree, especially if they don't eat their fruits and veggies, that if they don't take their vitamins they will tend to not feel so hot, maybe a little bit slower physically and mentally.
L-Glutamine is one of the 11 nonessential amino acid (the body can produce it itself) that
* Boosts immune system function
* Maintains muscle mass
* Prevents muscle catabolism (breakdown)
* Enhances glycogen storage
* Aids recovery from exercise
* Promotes healing
* Increases growth hormone levels
Ugh, someone take over. Here are some links for reliable info:
* The Physician and Sportsmedicine Online www.physsportsmed.com
* The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition www.ajcn.org
