Yeah. I was just on freevibe.com looking at all of the propaganda. I saw this "story" from a kid who said he was 12 and had done every drug in the world, but then he quit because his 15 year old brother died from an LSD overdose. Now, I'm fairly a newbie when it comes to anything other than pot and whatnot, but isn't it impossible to overdose on LSD? I mean, could you actually die? Seems like senseless propaganda to me...

This story is complete and utter bullshit because

1. The LD50 for acid is very very high. Meaning u have to take ALOT to die and i mean ALOT.

2. I doubt it that he would have enough money to get that much acid unless he had a lab.

3. Ive never heard of anyone dying from an acid overdose. Even though ive heard of people killing themselves by being stupid.

I hate when 12 year olds lie like that. He's probobly smoke pot once and thinks hes hardcore enogh to say hes done alot of drugs when in fact hes smoke a 1/4 of one doobie.

Heroin has just as much medical use as morphine; it's just unnecessary if they have morphine.

Correct me if im wrong. I read on erowid a while back that there has only been one LSD overdose death, ever. When this guy mistook a vial of LSD for meth (or heroin) and shot it up. The military used LSD in various expiriments and used humans for testing and they would inject shit loads in testing. LSD being dry as it is it would cost a fourtune to OD on. Not enuff money for a 15 yr old to afford.

The only acid overdose I've ever heard of was in the early 70s, The US military had an experiment with a soldier on a constant i.v. dripper of lsd for 45 days. What I heard killed him was not the lsd, but "over-response to stimuli", as his mind could not handle the comedown after that long a period of intraveinous acid drip. On another note, for freevibe.com, I think everyone should flood propaganda sites like that with obviously bullshit stories. That way at least we're giving them a rough time for the bad rap they give lots of "drug" users...I smoke weed daily, and have always paid all my bills on time, never been arrested(as an adult), etc etc etc......I hate their BULLSHIT!!!

PCP was originally devoloped as a new wonder drug, I'm not sure what it was to be used for, but the drug company that created it stopped selling it for human consumption in 1968. sometime after that they stopped selling it for vetrianry use. It just seem s sort of fucked up that a drug that used to be considered great is now considered criminal. makes you think about how thick the propaganda is getting

The closest thing I've heard to a guy ODing on acid was in VICE magazine. They did an article on a guy who took so much LSD that his brain was fucked and he tripped out for an entire year. He took enough chrystals for 100 hits of acid and put them on 10 tabs or something, then took 3 and a half tabs, so he said it was like 50 hits (sounds more like 35 to me). He had crazy panic attacks and went to the hospital where he says his heart stopped beating at one point. He had another problem months later, when he decided to smoke a couple joints with some friends and his mind was so fucked already that he passed out and smashed his face on the ground.

So, I'd call the first thing in the hospital an OD. (By the way this may sound like a stupid drug-propaganda story or an urban legend but VICE is a legit source in my opinion so believe what you want).

I read on a swedish site that Hallucinogen effect at about 25 - 30 mikrogram. The reported LD50 values for LSD are 46, 16.5, 0.3 mg/kg for mice, rats, and rabbits, respectively. So there you have it.

You would have to take a few thousand stamps in one time to kill yourself. Acid is one of the safest drugs, (not counting the effects on your mental health witch may cause you to commit suicide) there is. If the therapeutic dosage is at a 1000 times less than the LD50 than there you have it, it's pretty safe. (Sorry about my bad english)
