The title says it all. I hear all these people say, "A torch lighter is the only way to use salvia." and then i hear a bunch of people say "A regular lighter will work you just have to hold it there longer." So experience from anyone whos ever used salvia without a torch lighter would be appreciated.

Those really long lighters might work. Those flames are like 2 inches tall. They look those regular clear cheap lighters, except about twice the size.

Yes,yes,yes...a regular lighter will work if you know what you're doing BUT newbies should use a butane. What's the big deal about buying a $4 butane lighter?

The oils and waxes in salvia leaf are very saturated and hardened and won't thoroughly combust until about 1200F. Now salvinorin coated leaf (standardized extract) is a different story- the salvinorin will be released at a much lower temp. Pure salvinorin crystals can be vaporized at around 400F.

I've got it to work using a standard light. Use a disposable that you've upped the flame on and smoke your leaf/extract in a bud-bomb/agent blue. Suck like hell.
