Can't you chew cocoa leaves to get a small buzz? I'm not sure about this thought, I've just heard of people hiking in areas where cocoa grows [columbia and such I'de imagine] and chewing the leaves for energy.

Cocaine comes from the plant Erythroxylum coca, or the coca tree. The plant being sold is Theobroma cacao, or the cocoa tree. Do you honestly think somebody would be stupid enough to sell coca seeds on eBay?



And SEN D-F, you can chew coca leaves for a mild "high" and to prevent altitude sickness, but you won't get anything from cocoa.

no shit, they aren't gonna be like grow cocaine too...i'm sure some form of coke extract could be made...but i was mainly thinking about just eating the leaves to get a buzz...the point is that you can have the ability to make some coke for cheap, i don't even know if it's the right kind of plant, i just always thought that they came from the same plant

Nope, sorry, they are not the same plant. I refer you to my earlier post. Two different plants, two completely different substances. The only thing you would get out of cocoa leaves would be theobromine (and possibly theophylline and maaaaaaybe caffeine), which has no recreational potential. You'd get more of a buzz from drinking a can of Coke.
