I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled on the 21st and was just wondering what pain killers do they actually give you? I have heard from my friends that they give u a shit load of valium before the operation and then sedate you with lots of nitrous, but what painkillers do they give u after the op? Perocets? Vicodin? Opiates?

most likely vicodin. dont use it for the pain just enjoy the vicodin, use alcohol or weed for a pain killer. although you dont want to mix acetaminophen and alcohol, so weed.

well by default they will probably give you vicodin, maybe vicodin ES or percocet if you call back and complain of inadequate pain treatment, dont say it doesnt work at all, just not enough and it bothers you more during certain times yada yada just make it seem realistic.

also ask for the liquid (elixir) form because "I cant swallow pills without gagging them up sometimes" or "ive never been able to swallow pills" and the elixir is alot better than the pill version. even if they give you percocet or just tylenol 3 ask for the liquid there is a liquid for most if not all opiates, and its always better. although slightly more expensive, and it could raise slight suspicions.

i know a guy who asked for it after having took pills from the same doctor he asked for the elixir, and both knew the liquid was better (faster action or something i really dont know why) and that he had taken pills before so he kept him at that, even though later he upped his vicodin script to vicodin ES, then later switched him over to norcos due to both acetaminophen being lower in content than vicodin HPs (i suppose).

i think he has it covered, but for a second opinion, im pretty sure they give out vicodin or tylenol4's.

3 of my friends that have had it done got vic's and 1 got tylenol4.

Go in to the operation seeming timid and afraid. Talk about how you have a really low pain tolerance. Never let on you know anything about drugs. You'll get some pill containing hydrocodone post-op. Wait a day or two, but not more than three and call back and say the pain is really bothering you. You'll get an upgrade or be told to take more pills. Maybe you'll get some Percocet 5s if you're lucky. Don't expect much more than that though.

ok, heres the complete rundown:

I just got my wisdom teeth extracted a few weeks ago. You only get the valium if you requested twilight sedation. They first give you the nitrus, which is GREAT!!. lol, its the same stuff you use to boost cars. anyway, the valium is in an IV. Unfortunately, youre out before the valium feels really good. After you wake up, youll bleed for about 2 days. The bleeding slows down alot after about 8 hours if you keep gauze in (changing it periodically, of course) and keep pressure applied. Once the novicane wears off, youll want to take some of the paikillers and go to sleep for a few hours. Youll want to take the pain medication (odds are itll be hydrocodone) very sparingly so you can keep them for recreational purposes. Itll really suck, but at least youll get some damn good pills out of it. the post-operative instructions tell you not to smoke, so i waited like a week before smoking out. oh, and week during which i couldnt eat solid foods, i lived on cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, and baskin robins milkshakes. back to the pills, there pretty damn good. I, presonally, am a fan of drinking with them (i couldnt smoke b/c of p.o. instructions). i dont know much about risks, so ask before you try anything. above all... youll be fine, and enjoy the pills (i wish i had more)

My teeth didn't hurt at all. I wanted to go back to school after the op, but my mom made me stay home. I was eating solid foods with no problem. I do have a rather high pain tolerance though.

uh... months, if not years.

i got 8 vicodin 7.5s... too bad it was way back in the day before i knew anything about drugs. 6 of them just sat in the medicine cabinet till my parents threw them out :-( I'm still trying to figure out what they gave me pre-op, it was a little red triangular pill and it made me really happy, i was laughing at everything, it was great. It might have been valium, but i've taken valium since then and it never did anything like that.

I got 40 vicodin after i broke my arm. At a follow-up with my doctor i asked for more, he willingly wrote me another perscription, but my mom refused to get it filled, even though I told her i was in pain(Lie) Anyway, my mom is an evil bitch.
