Best drug for music / Best music for drugs
Since I was a little kid I has always been drawn to "spychedelic" music, like old Floyd, Tangerine Dream, 13th Floor Elevators, Robert Fripps's work and Gong to name a few of the "known" bands.
What is in your upinion the best psychedelic drug for music listening, and why?
What is your favourite music for tripping / speeding?
If I take speed I realy like to listen to music like: Monster Magnet, Front Line Assembly and so on to get my pump going

Re: Best drug for music / Best music for drugs
LSD with some pyschedelic rock of course. Doors have ray's insane keyboards with jim's even more insane lyrics. Jimi Hendrix Experience where Jimi's solos last an eternity. The Beatles make the whole air feel happy. Floyd always making it a journey, a big big journey.
Hate to sound clicheish but they are cliche for a reason.

Re: Best drug for music / Best music for drugs
I_Like_Traffic_Lights,
Yes. Those bands are a bit of a cliche but only because everyone has them. It doesn't make them bad
Back in the 60's and 70's people bougt records because they liked what they heard on the radio, not because of what the commersials told them to buy. Just think about all the crap people buy only because it has been heavely marketed by the industry.
Could you tell us the psychedelic experiance of the drugs you like? How you react on the music? The effect from LSD and mushrooms should be known by most people here though.

Stimulants - Drum & Bass (Roni Size, Krust, Dieselboy, AK1200, Goldie, Aphrodite, Ray Keith, Total Science, & Much More...) Fluke, Prodigy, The Crystal Method and for some reason I almost always listen to Van Halen
Opiates - Aphex Twin, Velvet Underground, Rolling Stones. Also, silence or the sound of running water are good
Weed - Dunno, lots of stuff sounds good when I'm high...
Psychedelics - Aphex Twin, The Crystal Method, depends what mood I'm in actually...no music at all is usually alright. Music doesnt usually bother me as long as its not anything too harsh like Cannibal Corpse or Nu Metal bullshit

Listen to EXT by jimi hendrix while dexing. Black Flag told me it was mind blowing. But yeah, jimi hendrix is an obvious one but i'd think that if you were on some uppers some old-school Red Hot Chili Peppers'd be cool. Specifically the uplift mofo party plan album. Kicks arse. Very funky

Re: Best drug for music / Best music for drugs
man if you like pyscadelic rock i suggest a band called "Floater",they arent too heavy but damn good acid rock the oreganers call it. The sad ballad of danny boy is a great song about drinking, godgun has a badass beat, king rabbit, centerfold only heard it live but its a funny fucking song. all good
they do fucking insanely intense live shows,if you can find sad ballad of danny boy live,i gaurentee youde like the orignal version but live is even better but i doubt you would find much live if using any p2p besides mIRC.
you could find more psychedelic drugs at a floater show than at a panic concert
also did a pretty cool remake of the doors "waiting for the sun"

Re: Best drug for music / Best music for drugs
I'm going to think carefully about this, so it will be (sonewhat) long.
Ok.
Prescription opiates (silence preferred for benzos):long, drawn-out, spacey instrumentals. Not shitty "jam-band" type though. Can, Fela Kuti.
For a few weeks, I was obsessed with Gorillaz, and listened to their self titled and remix CDs every time I smoked. Gorillaz was the default weed music. (that title, however, has now been transferred to the various theme music for Tetris and Super Mario Brothers.)
Uppers: Iggy Pop, Bob Marley (that makes no sense, but still I particularly enjoy it.) Electronic music--not trance/techno but bleeps-and-scratches type. Venetian Snares.
Ecstasy: Manitoba, Parliament/funkadelic/george clinton.
Acid: I really like to turn on this one freeform radio station in my area. One of those stations where it sounds like the person DJing/the people who created the music the DJ is playing must be on drugs as well, or have some kind of unchecked psychiatric disorder. Seriously, listening turns the whole trip into a more unpredictable adventure than it already is. They have a live audio stream at their website, wfmu.org, so you could try that experiment out if you wanted to.
Mushrooms, ketamine, pcp, crack/coke, h, opium, and DXM have felt/feel better for me with no music.
The funny thing is, sometimes the best "drug music" is not actually that interesting while on the drug expected. (With the exception of "Horses" by Patti Smith.) You know, I only listen to the Velvet Underground when I'm wishing/looking for/coming down from drugs, but never on them.
It really also depends on the situation and location. This list is just for "drugs at home" or "in an indoor location with one or zero other people." For "out," it is completely different.
Jeez, thinking about this just made me realize how much i HATE the Grateful Dead. Just thought I'd add that bit of cool, mostly irrelevant information to the end.

Re: Best drug for music / Best music for drugs
Listen to Adagio for Strings (from the Platoon soundtrack) when you are high on E. If you think of all the horrors of war and the shit they went through in Vietnam holy shit I'm not even joking - you'll have an outer-body experience!
E / House Music & people like SILICON SOUL, FAITHLESS, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx, Global Underground series, Jon Carter and Back to Basics.
Weed / MANU CHAO, Snoop, Dre, Doors, Bob, Air, Zero 7, Royksopp, Alabama 3, some Jimi and David Holmes.
LSD / Most music is good but video input is more important in my opinion.
[EDIT] Actually answering the fucking question!!
Best drug for music is definetely ECSTASY baby...
