"The Shakes"
Does else anyone ever get "the shakes" (you know, hand tremors) after using alcohol?
I get them from time to time after waking up from a long night/day of drinking. I'll usually somewhat buzzed at the same time.
I'm 19. It's been happening since I was 16. Is that irregular? I only know 1 person that gets them (or ever has) that is my age.
My mother said the youngest person she ever saw get them was 30 years old.

Re: "The Shakes"
Nope, it's definitely from the alcohol.
Also, there is a LONG history of alcoholism in my family.
edit: added the parts after "nope"

Re: "The Shakes"
Welcome to the wonderful world of alcoholism!---Only kidding. This is probably due to overloading your nerve with poisonous alcohol by-products and will go away with normal hangover therapy, though it can often be a precursor to full blown alcoholism. Cut back!

Re: "The Shakes"
Seems like a sign to quit drinking to me. Spend your money on a drug you can actually remember your evening on, and doesn't hate your body as much. Sorry to criticize your drug choice, but I've been on an anti-alcohol kick of late. The beer lobby is behind those anti-drug commercials. Anyone notice that there aren't any anti-underage drinking commercials though?

Re: "The Shakes"
Yeah, that sounds like a damn good sign of severe alcoholism. My dad got those before he went into rehab and got cleaned up. I though I had the DT's once, but then I realized that I was standing outside on a January morning without a coat on. Mornings are hard with a hangover....

Re: "The Shakes"
ABSOLUTELY, I thought I was the only one.
Except not after alcohol, just Diphenhydramine, or Codeine, basically any pills. Weird.
The night I tried codeine for the 2nd time and my friend tried it for the 1st, we both got it, just not really that bad.

Re: "The Shakes"
how bad are your shakes? i went to this class after i got busted for dui and they said that alcohol blocks a certain chemical in your brain from getting to your nerves but in the morning (or whenever you recover) your nerves are fried and send signals to different body part which makes you twitch. anyone else heard this one?
