Default Rage not anger rage...

Well this thread origniated from a week of work. As this is what stresses me out .

You see my job is low paid and hard work. I work in subway. I make fat horrible customers gruesome frankenstien sandwiches that claim to be healthy but contain more calories than your average human being.

I work with a lot of women and as of late the only staff i work are with females. And as you know in my job they are all dropouts. And they are a thick as ... well pig shit to put it politely.

Ayways to the point- I work very hard to compensate for thier inadequacies. And the managers right hand girl (newly appointed. Has had two weeks experience) well she blamed me for all the things that were not done. And i was told off for this.

Anyways i felt a strange sensation . I am relatively calm all the time. It felt like a sudden rush of warmth up the back of my skull. My vision jolted. I felt a huge adrennaline rush. It felt like i wanted to yell out loud scream and bash heads with rocks.

It was so intense. You want to grab a face and belt your fists into it but cant because of the social conventions put in place. This wasn't anger. I am angry when i am listening to Burzum , or when i hear people telling me about jesus or some old clap trap about religion.

This is a different more primal sense. And i was wondering what use is this in modern society. Its so destructive but you kind of like it. If evolution wanted us to get rid of it would have gone.

Is it the opposite to love ?

EDIT : Typo

I think it's called "working at fast food". Get out while you can, before you turn into one of them...

sweet cant blame you.. i love feeling this way sometime.. normally some satisfying fantasies ensue do they not?.. haha.. well if you come to the very end of your rope you can always let yourself go huh? i mean they had it comin.. if these are people that are around you all the time and you have one of those rage moments its not like its something they will be completely oblivious to.. if they are then they probably deserve a good wake up call to a world where they arent the only ones in it.. i hope at some point i am granted the opportunity to let myself go like this.. itll feel so good and yeah primal.. and ill know it will be warranted with everything that i am..

^yeah that too.. to above post.. the only times ive felt like that are in shit jobs.. and there is normally a higher number of shit people to not shit people at shit jobs.. that will make your life shit no? "shit"

Evolution takes a long time to work out the useless traits. many animals have useless features on their physiology that are derived from ancestral beings which evolved into what we are today....though what you felt is not one of them...thats rage....what you had above described as anger, seems to be mere annoyances....

culture is homo sapiens way of adapting to varied environments, and varied people....you'r insticts told you to crush the skull of the bitch, yet your culture upbringing restrained you.

I agree with rabbitweed.

Get out while you still can.

Working with stupid people breeds angry people.

The kind of angry people that go postal on their fellow humans, or resort to terrorism (and all this can stem from working in fast food!).

I don't think emotions have opposites, to me it doesn't really make sense. But I understand where you're coming from where you say it's a 'primal urge', it's not just your mind that's angry, it's making your body angry too, why? because if this were the wild, you'd have an actual fight on your hands, rather than pent up emotional. Realistically it serves no purpose in modern society, and leads to what is often referred as 'crimes of passion'. But hey, if we didn't have things like this, we'd all be the same, and that'd be pretty boring.

If this were a relationship, and you've exhausted all intellectual and emotional avenues of the argument, I'd say have rough sex (it's what I do with my partner when I have an 'angry body', it's the closest I want to get to beating the crap out of him without actually hurting him).

As it's not, I'd say take up something like kick boxing, or running to vent the extra physical (primal) anger and tension. Best case scenario, you find a more user friendly job.

I intend to . I have had to work since i was 14 as i am sure most of you guys have.

I have always worked in poor quality places. I need this job To pay my Uni fees. I will hand it to them these jobs help us to strive for better things in our own lives.

Perhaps this is the anger that just burns away and leaves determination. Is that the new purpose ?

Lol @ the "angry sex" idea that really uses up extra testosterone. But is male rage stronger than female rage ? . And how will we ever know lol .

I quite like the urge the beastly aspect of feeling intolerably violent. Sometimes it really makes you think ... "Yeah fuck it i could hit my manager yell fuck you walk out of here and get a new job" . And it seems entirely plausible that it would go off without a hitch.

Meh .. society eh ?

yeah but anything that just "burns" burns indiscriminately.. sometimes what you burn in anger can be determination or something else of value that leaves you hollow.. when i burn in rage i burn everything that displeases me.. and in a way i am cleansed of it.. i donno if anybody will get what im saying.. its good to know the focus of your rage then its like pouring kerosene on a selected area rather than letting the whole forest burn down.. its a weak metaphor but i think it has some value.. know its this bitch this corporation this life that has produced your feelings.. burn those out of your life..

*shrugs*

What works for some.

I think rage is rage, no matter what sex it's coming from. What I think you're getting at is the capacity for violence, which is entirely dependant on the person feeling the rage. Some people are more chemically predisposed towards physical violence (I happen to be one of them, so finding alternative activities to vent has become priority for me in fostering healthy harmonious relationships).

I think some good rough sex would be good for you personally, if you're feeling the level of rage you described, you're testosterone would be boosted as your body is telling your brain that you're getting ready to fight another male. So go home, make love to your girlfriend, and if you don't have one, rent one!

Heh.

Yeah i have one. Pretty fresh though havent got together yet. In that sense if you understand.

And to the thought of pouring kerosene . Yes i understand its like continually forcing your anger on something untill there is nothing left. It is a useful.

I used to be so angry when i was younger. I always put that down to my "slayer" days but i am quickly realising that under this calm person that is me. I have been simmering. And it is starting to come out. I am just so calm all the time i guess it had to happen sometime after the relapse i had after puberty. Going from Angry seething hatred fueled fights at school to calm laid back guy doesnt work too well.
