Default Help is this friendship or nothing?

Ok...

There is a girl in my uni class who I have a major league schoolboy crush on. She is 23 and i am 20, and she has a son, and livs with the father though they aint married.

The other day, feeling particualry bold and dating actually sat down beside her in the library and unde the pretence of working actually spent 90 mins in her company chatting away, and she told me all about her son.

There was a absolutly nothing between us, by that I mean normally I would begin to actually sweat if she was within 10 feet, I would feel very embarrased as if she caught masturbating or something. For some weird reason the "spell" has now been broken and i geel very confident talking to her.

Ive made sure to say hi to her whenever I see her, and i have given her a textbook to help her with some coursework and she hasnt made any indications that I am bothering her.

Okay heres my dilemma though, am I blinding myself here, as to the level of familarity that exists? I.e. she is thinking "fuck off already" and I am sitting there totally oblivious to her irritance?

IS she perhaps being so nice to me because I have a rep in my class for being willing to give a hand when its needed, or is it actually based on even a small level of affection (as a colleague/friend rather than sex partner lol).

Basically in a nutshell, I like this girl. I am glad we are getting along and is worth it to try and pursue a friendship, or might she be using my feelings towards her for her own benefit? I havent told her how I feel about her.#

Sorry guys!

At 20 years old, thats way too much baggage. And I assume you're considering a little more then friendship, because if it was just friends you were looking for, you probably wouldnt be that nervous around her.

Seriously though, stay away from girls with kids.

Everyone has baggage. But not all of them are life-altering. A kid is most certainly life altering. And so is living with the father.

You can do a lot better.

Where I come from, girls don't tell you that, they just let you figure it out on your own when they don't really talk to you.
