My girlfriend is 17 turning 18 in september. We live in pennsylvania. Can she legally leave her house and live with me at 17?

I read this one law type book, and it says in most states 17 is the in-between year, meaning the parent is still responsible for the childs actions but the parent nor the police can force the child to go home...

Anyone know about this? i looked online for that law in PA, and I didn't really find anything...

Do American kids grow up really slow or something? your ages for leaving home, consent, and drinking are all really high.

but yeah, we're not legal experts. Where I live we have a thing called "community law" where you can get free advice for such matters.

I just think it's because the majority of Americans under 25 are completely thick, so they baby them in hopes that they grow a brain and learn to look after themselves.

Well dude...depends on the state (NC and a few others I dont know), 5 of them say 16 is cool. The rest will usually allow a 17 yr old. You gotta call the cops and let them know your not kidnapped. They might check on you to see if your selling drugs or something but cops won't force you home under most circumstances. Good luck.

How old are you? If you're anywhere close to her age, this is a really bad idea that you should stop and think about.

In Pennsylvania, our legal age is 17. Yeah, I just found that out in Wellness class a month ago and I couldn't believe it that it wasn't 18 here. So you're in the clear.

Asking a cop about the law is like asking a janitor about how detergent works. You're looking to the wrong person. cops don't stufy law, they just enforce it.

Ask a lawyer or a judge. They study law, and make a living on their knowledge of it. They'll be able to give you an accurate answer.

I don't know about the laws in your jurisdiction; however, I know it's against God's law and his plan for your lives.
