Default Girlfriends and "imperfections"

So all girls seem to have these little things about themselves they hate. oh my nose is weird, my eyes are too close together, my chin looks funny, my ears stick out, I'm too fat, I'm too thin, blah blah.

I am only speaking for myself here (perhaps the other guys can chime in) is tht I love these so called "imperfections". Things that aren't what pretty girls are "supposed" to have but I find adorable as hell. Women need to spend less time watching TV/reading magazines and more time listening to their boyfriends.

But do you know what does suck? When a woman goes on about a part of her body she hates so much that you actaully start to find it unattractive. It's sort of hard to like a chick that hates herself. Keep that in mind girls, next time you want to moan to your boyfriend about how hideous you are...if you say it and point it out enough he may just be swayed to believe you.

My girlfriend doesn't bitch like that. She just refers to her entire self as unattractive, like most girls do. I find her very beautiful, though

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Usually I'm the one to notice imperfections on females and totally get turned off 100% after that. Like this girl I've known for years who I would have totally gone out with, I noticed she's got two or three teeth that aren't alligned perfectly, and that was it for me.

It's not that I'm shallow, I just can't help it. The problem is when things like this surface a month into the relationship and I have to scrap a perfectly good woman because her right toe is microscopically bigger than her left one.

I think you should be more worried that the girl has only two toes than any size disparity.

Anyway, thanks for ruining my awesome theory I guess that's just how I view chicks *shrugs*

I've been proved to be a weirdo again.

Right. You just display every trait of shallowness to a letter, but we shouldn't mind you being shallow, because you aren't actually shallow, you just completely act like it.

About as relavent and logical as not minding Mehmed Talat Pasha for killing Armenians, since secretly he loved them, he just couldn't help but kill every single last one that he could find.

No, you're right. If a girl were textbook awesome, she would remind me of a porn star and my subconcious mind would go 'walking fleshlight'

A few imperfections makes her a human with a backstory and a personality. It's better that way.

I agree with the OP.

I call it "imperfectly perfect".

Their flaws become what makes them so adorable to you.

mmmm...

I guess I got owned. Really though, to me there's this alarm going off saying "YOU CAN DO BETTER. WHAT WOULD YOUR PARENTS SAY SEEING YOU WITH THIS 2 TOED WOMAN" etc etc. I have issues beyond the parents, but I think overall many fucked up relationships in my childhood left me retarded in one way or another.

Or maybe it was the war? Now I'm just grasping at straws to explain why I have commitment issues...

Jesus christ. This is even worse than "Jerry Seinfeld syndrome." You should probably see a therapist...

And also, look into the mirror, and unless you're the perfect specimen of male beauty, stop being such a psycho.

I mean, I'm pretty judgmental, but a couple of slightly mis-aligned teeth? TOES!?! Damn dude.

I can imagine that in certain cases it would, but most guys with low self esteem fail at the whole sex & affection thing anyway, right?

what I mean is that most guys who have girlfriends aren't as insecure about their bodies as the girls are. Or maybe they are, but they don't talk about it as much because it threatens their sense of masculinity or whatever.

I agree with the OP; a little self-deprecating humour every now and then is fine, but constantly bitching about how your friends have flatter stomachs (and nicer boobs etc) than you is just not cricket. If that's the case, maybe I'll fuck your friends instead, you fat bitch. eh?

In my opinion, you are affraid of committing to a girl long-term. That's why you see an imperfection people normally don't notice as a perfectly legit reason to reak up with a girl. You are the problem here. Not the girl, not you mother who didn't breast-fed you, you are.

You need to do two things:

*learn to know what you want and check with yourself wether you want a relationship

*learn to accept yourself the imperfect way you are

Don't mind the psychological bullshit above this scentence, I'm looking for an excuse to tell you al that this is the funnies thread I read all night.

1) I WANT a relationship really badly. I prefer it over meaningless one night stands (not that I've had many to boot). I want to find that special someone I can devote a year or something to..

The thing is, since I'm devoting a whole year to her, I feel she has to be perfect. Which is where the problems start...

2) I'm completely fine with my imperfections. I used to have mild-medium acne as a kid, and I never let that bother me. I'm really confident in myself, my hair, my size, etc, that I never feel insignificant when approaching a female.

Everybody is allowed to be insecure sometimes. It's cute more often than it's anything else.

I'm lucky, it appears my boyfriend has a genuine "thing" for belly pooches. Probably because he has no fat of his own to fondle.

my unnaturally short nose/bandy legs/big teeth are things i should probably hate, but i'm quite fond of them :]
