Bullshit disclaimer noted, I would like you to pull up some hard data to back up "women cheat more" other than the male predisposition to fear the unknown. All I am hearing is anadochal evidence that women cheat more and nothing else.

To settle this once and for all I did a search on "women statistics cheating" and found a site that had a range of statitics taken over the last decade on the subject.

At the very LEAST 12% of women cheat, 22% of the men cheat.

At the very MOST 25% of women cheat, while 37% men cheat.

Interesting. That just laid two hyperboles to bed. Not ony do MOST women not cheat, but MOST men do not either and in both cases, men cheat MORE.

Specus_meretricis, I too have read all the statistics. Many of these so called surveys are conducted over the phone or in a public location like a shopping mall. I believe the stats are skewed once again because women DON'T talk like the men do. The woman's response is "I would NEVER cheat" and the guys response is "HELL ya I fucked 10 bithches last night". My personal opinion is I think many survey results are skewed for the reason just stated.

I have a good friend of mine who is a retired professional athlete. He is married with two kids. He is well known in America, wealth, and very good looking. He cheats every week. Specus_meretricis, I too have read all the statistics. Many of these so called surveys are conducted over the phone or in a public location like a shopping mall. By the way, most of those statistics are not conducted in shopping malls or over the phone. That is done with Market Research for products and consumer opinions. No academic or medical researcher would come within ten feet of that type of data collection.

Dude, You just fucking nailed it. There was this one bitch I was dating, she was married, and every time 13.5 days before her period she had to have sex. If I wasn't available she find someone else. Well she started to find someone else at 14.5 days and then me on 13.5 days. I found out with a "hardware" key logger on her work computer. Personally, i think that more than a few people are using civil rights movements as an excuse for their own selfish desires.

Let's take a look at our society as a whole - Men do indeed rape more women than women rape men, but why is this?

Would that mean that women would rape men more often?

None of this can be proven and the number on either side is such a low percentage of difference it's not even worth arguing about.

This guy's got it. Personally, I dont think you can say who cheats more, and you CERTAINLY cannot say that one gender cheats all the time, while turning around and saying the other dosent.

There are reasons that I think women would cheat less, and are the reasons that I myself doubt that I would ever cheat (in a relationship where there was mutual trust, respect, and, hey, love or something like it).

One is that, women carry the chance of getting pregnant each time they have sex. With contraceptives, its a small chance, but it could happen. If you cheat with more than one person, get pregnant, cant find who the father is and your man -knows- its not him? heh, well, you're fuckered, arent you?

Another is, though this one isnt as much of a biggie for most people, there is some shame in cheating, especially for a woman. When a man cheats, he tells his friends and they high-five and call him a stud. When a woman cheats... she may tell her friends if she's proud, or may not, because she's ashamed.

Have you ever wondered if the reason they all cheated on you might have anything to do with how shit you are in bed?

Because women look for stability. I hate to use "bird in the hand," but if she's already got a firm source of emotional/financial/physical satisfaction... even if lower in quality than she'd prefer... she'll "shop the market" some before up and leaving. If it looks like nothing better is out there, she'll come back and not mention it. If there is, she'll see how long she can do both before having to make a decision.
