So. I was raped about a month ago.*

I am currently pregnant with my rapist's baby. I have gone to the gynecologist and set up check ups and stuff.**

I am currently attending school with the man that did this on a daily basis.

I took everything I had to the police. They told me they had enough evidence to prove we had sex and that someone assulted me. I sort of shrugged my shoulders and tried to keep going with my regular life.

The thing is I have no coping mechanisms for all of the things going on in my life. I know that because of my age I'm at risk of pregnancy difficulties so I should limit all of stress in my life.

Is there any option besides couseling for me. Normally I would smoke or drink or do some sort of drug to try to ease my mind, but those plus pregnancy don't mix well.

Counseling isn't an option because no one in my town is a suitable option because of how gossip flies. (Everyone thinks it was consentual, mainly because of the guy telling them this AND because the police chose not to prosecute.)

Is there anyone I could talk to who isn't going to be judgmental? Who is willing to just be there like a shoulder to cry/lean on?

Also: Should I pursue a higher form of authority? Like try state law enforcment? Would it make a difference?

One more thing: For any of you that have been raped, were you ever able to trust the gender of the person that did this to you? I'm not sure I'll ever be able to trust another guy. (Like stated in the other thread, the guy that did this was the person I trusted the most in this world.)

Guys hate rape more then girls. It gives us all a bad name, and its disgusting to boot. I'd say a good 50% of regular guys would be more then willing to kick his ass if you just asked. I know I would. Just because the law wont deal with it doesnt mean he has to get away with it.

Find out. There are organizations that help with costs. Contact rape and crisis hotlines. They should be able to refer you to someone.

It used to be, I'd go after any guy with lethal intent, if a girl told me he raped her. I'd go after a guy twice my size, and probably get my ass kicked. But it really does make my blood boil. Sometimes it's just easier to forget about it, pretend it didn't happen. Sometimes you just can't cope with police on top of the internal emotional stress.

Obviously it's a different case when there's a baby. I can't understand or empathise at all with that decision. I've tried, but it's just not how my head is wired.

But to the people talking about going all vigilante, it's not always helpful. I mean, I know if I'd told my friends at the time, the guy would have been lucky to come out alive. And consentual or not, he would have been put away, because it would have been statutory rape. But just to acknowledge it is incredibly difficult.

You should really, really look into counselling. There must be someone. Talk to your doctor about it?

Maybe 'running away' doesn't sound like the grown up thing to do but right now its probably the best option. Think of it more as a 'tactical retreat' to give you time to think etc. You owe that to yourself and the baby.
