okay, I'm 14 years old and my mom is really persistent on me getting the HPV shots that prevent cervical cancer. Apparently you have to get them before you have sex for them to work. This is a problem because I've already had sex (she doesn't know this, and I'm not planing on telling her) and I'm wondering do any of you know if they check to see if you're a virgin before they give you the shots?

No, you don't have to be a virgin for them to work. It's just that if you've had sex and contracted HPV already, it won't do shit.

technically, you can still get it, but thats just if there's a lot of skin touching, but a condom usually covers whats needed. it's rare to get with a condom, but possible.
