Here lately I have been trying to be healthy.I started exercising because I put on some weight and I stopped smoking/drinking/drugs because it's obviously not good for you. Now, I have this friend that I will call "A" who has done nothing but discourage me for changing my ways. See, she is really unhealthy she smokes/drinks and weighs 200 pounds. All she does is make fun of me and call me a goody good and a prude. She keeps trying to shove McDonalds and cigs in my face. Why the fuck is she being like this? Should I push her out of my life? I need advice.

I'm guessing the envies your motivation. I think you should tell her that you're determined to do this with or without her help and for her to either join you (tell her that she could use it too!) or support you in what you're doing, or get out of your way and leave you alone.

I know from personal experience that dieting is difficult and you just can't do it if you're not motivated. If you have the motivation to do it, go for it and don't let anyone stop you.

Shove her - she's jealous and pathetic and has no fucking good intentions for you. If she did she wouldn't be such a bitch about what your trying to do.

Get yourself rid of her. Make better friends, don't waste your time on someone who doesn't care about you now, it's a waste of time even trying because you'll never really be sure if she really cares about you.

That's my theory.

Don't hang around with her if she's being irritating and immature. You don't need to cut her out of your life entirely, just spend less time with her. Not difficult really.

You're making some very positive changes, and she has no reason except jealousy and stupidity to discourage you, get her OUT as fast as you can, IMO.

+1 to all of these. Get rid of her, find new friends. She's a jealous loser who will try to keep you down at her level. You will find people like this in every aspect of life. Like lobsters in a cage, as soon as you try to climb up, they'll try to drag you back down.

Sometimes when my friend in college talks about his A he gets in a class, I can be sort of envious. I don't show it, but when someone you know is doing "better" than you, it can make you want to take them down. We should be happy for them though, but that just isn't human!

Nah, if I do feel bad about someone doing better than me, it makes me want to try harder and do better than them, not take them down.
