Ok, so my best friend we will call him dan has been my best closest friend for about 7 or 8 years, and my ex girlfriend and i have been broken up for about a year now, well call her stacy. I dated stacy for about 5 months in senior year, she was my first and only true love. I have not had a girlfriend or some one who cares about me like that ever before and still no girlfriend to this day. I think about her every day, i moved away in september and have only been home a few times to visit and now they are dating, have been for about 3 months now. dan use to always talk shit about stacy when i was dating her, and hated her. But now he has no time to hang out with any of his other friends because hes obssessed with her, he even says he wants to marry her, (only to her).

I still talk to stacy, and she still has feelings for me, and tells me that alot of the time she wishes she was still with me, and of course i wish i was still with her (she broke up with me). im home visiting for a week and i have only seen dan once because hes too busy hanging out with stacy. i have seen stacy once also, things were very emotional between us and we ended up making out and a little more. we even stayed up talking on the fone last night for 3 hours.

me and dan never talk about stacy, for that is to awkward. It would even be to awkward to just hang out with just us 3.

i hate every moment of this and it eats me up almost every day. i just wanna break down and cry sometimes. they do fight quite a bit, but still he says he loves her and wants to marry her and have kids with her someday and all. i cant deal with this its so hard. i think about it all day sometimes. what do i do, i almost feel like its gonna start ruining our friendship between all of us soon. i HAte it and i cant take it please totse give me some advice.

ps. most of my friends dont like stacy, they think shes a bitch.

I don't think if Dan would really be a friend to you in the definition, if he is going to hurt you like this, he should know that you still have feelings for her and have him stop braggin about her right in your face, he shouldn't have backstabbed you in the first place. In other words, kick his ass for doing shit like that.

You should talk to your friend about it if you haven't already. Tell him how you feel about it. It might be a little too late for that now though. If he's really a friend, he should understand.

If he failed to mention that he was going to date before they started dating, that's not very "friend" like, don't you think?

dan could whoop my ass in a heartbeat, and i havn't told dan how i feel. i know it was an asshole move but, hes like my best friend ever you know. every one thinks im over her but im not. what good would it do now to tell dan how i feel about her? well stacy told me about there feelings for each other right before they started dating, and shes like well if it snot ok then i wont date him, and i said i cant change your feelings for each other and that its fucked up so dont put the decision on me, i kinda gave in to her though and sayd i wasnt that mad, but i still tell her like how i feel you know. and ps i fingerd her under the table at my sisters wedding while my dad was giving his speech to the groom. she still loves me, but... shes with him...god i get so depressed over it. I CANT RUIN FRIENDSHIPS WITH EITHER!

Play dirty. Record a conversation where she says how much she'd love to be with you, how she wishes she still was. Then get her to talk about how you both fooled around on him. Then give him the tape.

He's no best friend. Best friends don't do that. A real best friend would have been there, pouring you shots of cheap Russian vodka then driving you to clubs after Stacey dumped you.

PS. I'll also say that reading your post I couldn't help but feel that Dan was the sap in this whole scenario. Sure he's your friend, but you've been gone for a year and he loves her. And still all it takes is an hour or two for her to cheat on him, and something in that picture and how you described him has me convinced she does that a lot.

Are you sure he is your best friend? I mean is he aware of his relationship status with you? If he is, then he is an ArchDouche for fucking around with her at all. I don't care if someone has been your ex for twenty years, you don't do that. Some people can get over it fast if that ex didn't have that huge of an effect on them. But if she was your first love, fuck him. Odds are, he won't marry this bitch and settle down. So why would he hook up with her? Either it is because he is a total, disloyal asshole or he is a blind, unaware asshole. No matter what, you have an asshole.
